First of all if you are going to eat here, you must seriously consider ordering "Lillian's Delight" bruschetta platter. Wow. It is almost a meal all by itself. It was our favorite part of the meal. We followed that with very good gnocchi with meat sauce and pici with cinghale ragu. The pici had large, delicious chunks of cinghale in... More

This meal was a highlight of our trip. The owners' son was our host for the night and was the most charming young Brazilian man. He was full of information about his parents' cuisine and their wines. The setting is a gorgeous, high-ceilinged room, with rustic furniture and accents. Each course is perfectly prepared and paired with an excellent wine... More

My wife and I had a marvelous 1st experience at the restaurant on Sunday afternoon, we toured the ancient wine cellar, sampled and purchased some of their marvelous wines as well. The experience was so lovely that we are going back for dinner on another evening. I should also mention that the staff and owner are a delight and make... More

A sunny but somewhat windy early afternoon. Lunch in the garden. Authentic Tuscan food, good quality, a charming Vernaccia, served by friendly staff. Excellent price / quality ratio. Do not forget to visit the wine cellar !

As we walked up to Gattavecchi I was pleasantly surprised. It had the most charming patio with the most spectacular views of the Tuscany landscape. Before lunch we thought we’d take a look through their wine cellars, which is beneath the restaurant and the church next door. After this we were ready for our lunch. We decided on one of... More

We spent 5 nights in montepulciano in late April, 2014. This restaurant was right by the 'apartment' we rented. They have their own winery and make incredible reds. We ended up eating here twice. Both times we had the incredible pasta from this region, picci. Think fat spaghetti. But like nothing you've ever had in the US. Their sauces, from... More

One of the best lunches we have had in a long time. Walking in to the restaurant we didn't know what to expect, but we were warmly welcomed to the upstairs, old canteen style restaurant sala. The big tuscan style wooden tables, the decor & the service are big pluses for this restaurant. There was a wine tasting in progress... More

We had a wonderful dinner here . Chef Lilian and her husband Jonathan were the perfect hosts. The food and wine is out of this world. Also a great place to have a glass of wine and watch the sun go down

The restaurant is very caracteristic with a volted ceiling and wine cellars underneath. You could have individual tables or share long ones. They explained that they had been very full at lunch so some items were lacking from the menu. We tried several wines during the meal but preffered the riserva Poggia alla Sala without a doubt. The service was... More
