Wine was fantastic, service was good, food was really good. We went back for a second visit because the food was so good. Roast pork and wild boar ragu were my favourites. Highly recommended if you appreciate good, Italian food. Only open at lunchtime

According to Google, Cantina Gattavechia was closed, but when we called we were invited to come over. We arrived and were greeted with "mi casa, su casa". You can always tell a wine maker because their priority is always to get you as passionate about...More

Tasty, good service, friendly and reasonably priced. My steak was cooked perfectly with rosemary and red berries. The riserva wine is fruit heavy and great value.

Cantina Gattavecchi is a wonderful restaurant located in a 13th century monastery. The food and wine are excellent. But even better are the owners: Daniela and her brothers. We ate lunch and dinner here and enjoyed both immensely. We will definitely visit here again the...More

We found this place randomly. I'm a wheelchair user so I couldn't go beyond the ground floor, where there is one table set up in the shop. In all honesty, it didn't look promising, but we were too tired to go anywhere else, and they...More

Loved the food here. Not inexpensive, but you get HUGE portions, especially on the appetizers. I ate there with my husband, and the platter we got as a started could easily have fed 4 people. The wait staff was friendly, and there were several tables...More

If only we had found this restaurant sooner in our trip! We would have eaten there more that once. Initially, we went to visit the ancient Grottos, the oldest in Montepulciano, which are under the restaurant. Admission to see them is free and well worth...More

I'm not sure if they have wine tasting, but it is a winery so they probably do. Reservation is a must. Enjoy
