We spent three nights in Montepulciano and ate at Osteria del Conte our first night, on the recommendation of friends who'd been there two years ago. We had a delightful meal, one of the best during our 14 days in Italy. So good, we immediately made a reservation for our third night in Montepulciano. Again, the meal was wonderful, and... More

Our hotel recommended this ristorante hands down, true home cooking by the Grandmother! Reservations are a must unless you want to wait! Each course was delicious and so well seasoned!

My husband and I arrived with no reservation, but were able to sneak in the last table.. (recommend reservations at least made earlier in the day)... delicious pastas, lamb & pork, fabulous desserts. Attentive and pleasant service. Prices are reasonable and the setting is like eating in a family kitchen - small, cozy & comfortable.

Most of town was closed when we got to Montelpulciano after side trips to Bagno Vignoni and Pienza. Most shops were closed and we walked forever until stumbling onto this breezy place by the Muses Civics. Bruschetta platter with give different types was great. Local Pico pasta with Tuscan ragu and tagliatelle with porcine ragu both wonderful. Service great

Our meal was delicious; the atmosphere delightful. We were told that this restaurant is family owned and operated, that Grandma cooks in the kitchen as well! I would agree with Tomas that service was slow, but we Americans are used to such fast service, and Italians like to take their time over a meal. We had nowhere else to go,... More

What a great evening, dining with the Count of Montepulciano We matched 7 amazing Colucci wines with 7 local dishes, all excellent. We were with a group so i cant comment on price but setting, service, and quality was amazing.

Slow service, ordinary wine which I would not expect in this lovation, cold dish (lamb meat) served. I would try something else next time for this price.

Just right is what my last three meals here have been...a case in point: I wanted a modest meal, almost what we could call 'Tuscan spa food" (if you could imagine such a thing). And here it was: perfect and delicate grilled vegetables, followed by a mixed grill of impeccably fresh fish (Friday's only, I think)--one whole miniature branzino (?),... More

Montepulciano is a magic city which offers its visitors unforgettable memories. A steep, winding road will lead you to a medieval hill town with a wonderful view over the surrounding valley. L’Osteria del Conte is situated in one of the town centre’s main streets, near the renowned Sanctuary of San Biagio and ontepulciano’s Fortress. After several years of experience in enogastronomy and catering, Lorena together with her son, Paolo, decided to open this cosy little restaurant in Montepulciano, where you will have the possibility of tasting the genuine, delicious dishes offered by the Sienese cuisine.
