Arrived at this restaurant early and it was full already. The English speaking staff very kindly organized us a table but we found the paper English menu confusing and we had to share it between 4 tables. Most of the people in there were English so not sure why they don't just print a couple.... Ordered diet coke but received... More

My wife and two friends stopped in Mestre while visiting Venice and found tucked away down a side street a great authentic Italian gem. The Hostaria Vite Rossa was friendly, English speaking and the food was great. We loved it so ate there twice over our 4 day stay, you must book to be sure of a table as the... More

Delicious food, great value, nice atmosphere and friendly people. What more could one ask for. However you will need to book, even in December we found it fully sold out - with locals. I recommend the red wine Degani Valpolicella Ripasso 2014 classico superiore Red for 18 euros per bottle. Superb. Thank you for a great evening,

This place is amazing! I can't stress enough how beautiful the food is! How fabulous the house Wine is, or how accommodating the staff are. We turned up after 10:30 with no reservations and the place was packed with locals and tourists alike. We'd just arrived in Meatre and had not had time to travel onto the island. My partner... More

A big list of wine and a lot of great food to make the perfect Venetian aperitif "cichetto" There's also a great menu for lunch and dinner (but you need to reserve a table)

Went last night after reading reviews, as was staying just over the road in Hotel Delfino. Was very busy outside, but they managed to squeeze us in without reservation at about 7:30. Food was very good, limited menu, but very tasty and well presented. Well worth a visit.

A grouip of six of us were staying at the Hotel Delfino in Mestre and I had already researched Tripadvisor for nearby restaurants. All of us preder to eat in restaurants that the locals use rather than your typical touristy hostelries. Hostaria Vite Rossa was the obvious choice to try first as it was less than 200m away and had... More

Food was excellent with good portion sizes. Service was a little haphazard but that was because two waitresses had to cope with all of the restaurant. Overall would recommend highly but make sure you book. A very popular place.

Read the reviews and so thought we would give it a try. Noted comments about how busy it gets. Thought it might be a little quieter as not the height of the season. Didn't book and just turned up! How wrong was I . The place was heaving and spiking over onto the street. Asked if it was possible to... More

We had a lovely time in Osteria Vite Rosa, very friendly stuf, the food is excellent, the wines are very good, but the spritz (Apperol spritz) is divine!!!! If you want to feel Italy, make a reservation here and YOU will never regret, infact you will return every night, as we did! This is a place we will never forget!... More
