Located right in the middle of a one-hectare green area, the restaurant is just out of Malcesine, far from the town bustle, in total harmony with the surrounding nature. We went one night as a group of 30 and it was very good, ribs a little greasy but nice, pity about the staff - very odd attitude, I think they were trained by the Gestapo, very rude. I suspect because we were not German. The next visit a week later was terrible, very fatty ribs and the staff were... More

Garda seems very popular with Germans and so no surprise really that such a place exists. Long tables, steins and meat! Self service kiosk. We fancied something non Italian one night and headed down. The menu is pretty small. Basically seems like a roasted chicken, pork knuckle or ribs. Then a few sides. Seems cheap at first but the price... More

Sitting outside and enjoying real good South Tyrolean food - the place has gone thru a moderate uplift over the years but essentially has not changed for years and years - always good to come back!

Stopped here for lunch whilst visiting the lakes. Ate thge grilled pork leg which came with bread and chips, washed down with beer. The meat tasted incredible with some awesome crackling, and the beer was good too! Chips tasted like they had been cooked in old fat however. You can't complain at the value for money though (c. €15 for... More

We visited Speck Stube whilst staying at Hotel Benacus in Malcasine. We had decided to go after reading the reviews and we weren't disappointed. Ordering and receiving the food was super quick and simple. The food was delicious, we had the half chicken and chips - the chicken was beautifully cooked and just fell way from the bone - would... Beautiful place and cooler during summer heat. Nested on a hill overlooking the lake, offers a well organized, quick self service restaurant with few excellent meat dishes and great beer. Perfect for families, as facilities include a small kids area, but also good for a romantic evening under the moonlight.
