Excellent location with ok service. We especially appreciated the limitless limoncello at the end of the meal. But oh dear… the food itself… Delivering up bland pasta dishes in an Italian restaurant, in Italy, is inexcusable. And tasteless meat and fish main dishes too. As...for the complimentary garlic bread… it didn’t taste of garlic. and we didn’t recognise it as bread. It was so hard, if we’d dropped it it would have shattered. Epic fail. It feels like a restaurant that, because of the location, has to do very little to keep the customers rolling in but offers pretty bland tasteless dishes. It was by far the worst place we ate all holiday. I’d look elsewhere.More

Great place to eat - by the lake, very friendly staff, it was my son's birthday and they gave both children free Tiramisu for dessert, at the end of the meal with the sweets they bring a whole bottle of Limoncello for you to serve...yourself, free of charge. The food was very, very tasty. I highly recommend. The first time we went there we had to wait for a table for at least 30 minutes, but they gave us free drinks, prosecco for the adults and orange juice for the kids, to drink as we were waiting.More

Staying in Malcesine for a week and thoroughly enjoying our stay. Every day/ night has been fantastic. Tonight, however we had a meal here and it was probably one of the worst restaurant experiences ever. The food was tasteful enough, the location superb, but it...was completely spoilt by the manic activity around us, lack of service and rush, rush, rush! No sooner had we been ushered in, seated and offered complimentary breads and oils etc, then it was whipped away to be replaced with main courses. The staff were shouting all around us, rushing us with our courses and the whole service was extremely impersonal. There was a shouting from the kitchens, waiting customers hovering around our table whilst we ate and all the time the staff were trying to hurry us along. Maybe this was a bad night, but judging by some earlier comments, I’m guessing not. Completely the opposite of everywhere else we have eaten in Malcesine. Such a shame. Better luck, if you give it a go (hopefully the service/atmosphere will be better).More

The location is everything, but the food does its best to match it. We will always hold a special place for La Pace, as the owner drove my wife to our wedding in his 'Ape' 3-wheeler in the castle in Malcesine, and his drive to...ensure that his restaurant continues to succeed is unsurpassed! Lovely atmosphere (you often get street performers outside) and delicious, simple food makes it worth the wait - they even throw in a glass of prosecco while you wait to be seated, and the traditional bottle of limoncello on your table at the end of the meal! We will most certainly be back!More

Superstressed waiters. They squeeze in as many people as they can. We were four people at a table that mostly seated two. Small pizzas. Boring meny. Pasta with creamy sauces. Are we in Germany or Italy?

Worst service in our whole stay! Very unfriendly staff, very busy and they ignore lots of requests! We ordered two course menu, they brought us all the food at once and the table didn't have a space, when we asked them to bring the main...course later, they cancelled our order! the score is average based on all aspects of the restaurant. The food was very good but the service let it down. 22 people ordering some having starters others not, but the food was brought out at the same time. So some people eating mains...and others on starters. We had 3 tables and it was difficult to keep up with the price ....we paid the bill but not sure who paid for what. They provide garlic bread as an apetizer - it was smothered in oil and the waitress picked up the plate spilling the grease all over me - she didnt bat an eyelid, and luckily it was on hands and napkins so didn't cause any problem, though it was bad service. yes it has a great view, and the food was lovely but overall the service let it downMore

Excellent service, the staff were very friendly and most of them spoke good English. They gave us free limoncello and advice on where to party after! Food and location was so good we returned for round two. Kiwis- spot the little piece of New Zealand...in the restaurant…. Not sure the connection there!More

The restaurant is in a fabulous location in a small square right on the lakeside. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The food was great, all freshly cooked, very tasty and large portion sizes. The atmosphere is lovely, we enjoyed a really relaxed meal.

The service was friendly and views were fantastic. We ate mixed grilled seafood, which was slightly overcooked. Prawns didn`t taste so fresh and eventually we got stomach ache and symptoms in the evening. A bit disappointed overall.

Popped in having only booked yesterday. Service was first class , very friendly and lovely to be remembered. Food was absolutely brilliant and served timely and well. Lovely spot overlooking the lake on a gorgeous evening. Couldn’t fault it. Definitely recommend
