We had dined here on three occasions in September 2018 including hosting a luncheon for over 20 friends and relatives for my wife's birthday and the food and service on each occasion had been of a high standard and the setting is just superb. On...this visit we ended up dining here again on three occasions. The first was a Sunday lunch when we shared a plate of risotto (which was very good) and then we both chose the BBQ special which was to be a mix of different meats. Not sure what went amiss here but amiss it did go and it was inedible. The chicken and the rabbit were rock hard, as if they hard been left on the BBQ for far too long and everything was far too salty including the roast potatoes. We were going to let this pass but when the waiter, who had recognised us from the year before, came and saw that we had hardly eaten anything at all and asked us what was wrong we promptly told him. This resulted in a visit from the Chef to our table outside who told us no one else had complained to which I replied that, to my recollection we had never sent food back before, but that this was inedible and he should take the food away and try it himself. He offered to bring us another main course each and we took him up on his offer and ordered a beef tagliata which was very good. We dined here on another two occasions, one with two friends, trusting that our first visit was an aberration, and that proved to be the case. On each of these occasions the food was very good and our friends were impressed not only with the food but the gorgeous views of the surrounding vineyards from the outside dining area. Service on all three occasions was very friendly and efficient. There is an extensive wine list and we chose some very good wines at reasonable prices from the winery's own products.More

We chose this restaurant on the recommendation of our hotel and the great reviews on TA. We were not disappointed. We opted to dine on the terrace but as it was September, it was on the chillier side. No problem! A nice blanket was provided...and we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the vineyards. The Caprese Liquidity was like a chilled tomato soup with a dollop of mozzarella on the top. Tasty! My husband loved his eggplant starter. We both craved truffles and served with taglierini, it was delicious . . . and lots of truffle shavings! The recommended Chianti Classico paired perfectly with our pasta and we left fully satisfied. Service was warm and friendly and the value was excellent!More

When one is dining their way across Tuscany, it is hard to go wrong. At Foresteria Villa Cerna it would be impossible not to have a good meal. Their liquid burrata salad(?) was truly unique and worth the trip alone. Along with a perfectly executed...Bistecca paired with a 2015 Bibbiano Vigna Del Capannino, it made for a wonderfully balanced and amazing dining experience. The service was also perfect and I would go back again if we had the time.More

Do NOT attend the cooking class here. I cannot comment on the restaurant food, as we didn't eat from the traditional menu, and the location is lovely. However, the cooking class they offer is really poor and a total rip-off. It costs 110eur per person,...the class itself is only 1 hour long , and you learn the most basic things. Half of the ingredients are pre-prepared for you and overall I learnt nothing. The starter you make is Bruschetta (all you do is chop tomatoes and mix in basil), then you make pesto pasta (but the pasta is done in a kitchen mixer and not by hand, and blending pesto requires zero cooking), then the main is the most disappointing and all you do is roast a chicken in the oven! No potatoes, no veg, no sauce, just a roast chicken with some herbs. The dessert is Tiramisu, and all the cream is pre-whipped for you, so all you do is assemble it in a bowl. Then once you make everything, you get sat outside by yourself with a glass of wine for about an hour. You then get served the dinner, having done none of the final cooking. This was probably because they don't want you back in the kitchen as they are preparing for service (which is fine, but don't offer a cooking class if you don't have the correct facilities). We had 5-6 different waiters throughout the evening, who were all very polite, but because we didn't have one waiter, we didn't chat with anyone and it wasn't fun and friendly, like previous cooking classes I have done. The restaurant itself is lovely if you want a formal meal, but for a cooking class it was basic and the atmosphere sterile. There are much better cooking classes within Chianti, that teach you much more and are cheaper. I have emailed my compliant to the restaurant in advance of leaving this review, but they seem to think that the class they offer is good and have dismissed my feedback.More

Two of the best meals we had in Italy were our dinner and lunch at Foresteria Villa Cerna. The food and wine are excellent, and the staff is friendly, informative, professional, and made us laugh. The views are amazing, and there is convenient on-site parking....A highlight of our vacation.More

we came here on recommendation of some friends, we got nice Coevo bottle, but: very slow and not professional service, but the main problem was the food: we ordered the steak, came out rare, we asked to cook a bit more, came out the Chef(a...cook i suppose) who told us we didnt understand about food. Well, such an arrogance. and besides the quality was very cheep. we will never come back again and we will never recommend Cecchi's wine!!!!More

We came to this restaurant as it was recommended by our nearby hotel. The location was beautiful and the staff was super friendly. I have mixted reviews about the food. The beef filet was tender and flavorful but served cold. The rest of the food...was also quite ordinary. The service was slow. One other reviewer suggested doing the wine tasting at the table. My suggestion is not to. The 3 glass wine tasting was 20 euros and the 5 glass was 35. We took the 3 and it was underwelming. I noticed afterwards that we seemed to be the only people doing the tasting at the table. I think buying the same wines by the glass from their menu would have probably cost less and with full glasses of wine as well. I felt a little cheated. The beef filet was tender and flavorful but served cold. The rest of the food was also quite ordinary. Overall very orderinary experience and would not recommend.More

We dined here by way of our winery guide. Excellent views, excellent wine list, excellent food. The experience and attentive staff made this one of our best lunches in Italy. Highly recommend. You really can't beat the classic Tuscan views.

We had probably a 3 hour lunch here and it was wonderful. A very classy but at the same time casual atmosphere with superb outdoor seating area. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about wine and very helpful. They split items up made suggestions...and we had a great time. We were having such a good time we missed an appointment at a very famous wineryMore

The setting alone will take your breath away. The quintessential Tuscan vineyard with views in every direction. But then you enter the dining room where you are warmly welcomed by an attentive staff. The menu is small but with something for everyone. We started with...the baccala bruschetta and a salad mista. Both were excellent but there is something about the freshness of the salad greens and their presentation that wowed me. Or maybe it was the addition of their locally produced olive oil. Either or, both appetizers were scrumptious. My husband then ordered the boar steak and I the tagliterini with truffle sauce, each rich in flavor in its own way but again home runs. We finished with the ricotta mouse, which was to die for. And if you are into wines their selection is top notch but the prices are reasonable. Al in all from the staff to the menu and quality of food our night was perfect and we highly recommend a lovely evening at Foresteria. Sent from my iPadMore
