I went with my wife and two friends to this restaurant in a Saturday nigh. Unfortunately the staff destroyed the good food by providing one of the worst service I never experienced The missed up the order and lost the full control of the service Nobody took care of us, we had to stop the waiter every time we need... The service is wonderful here. The food is awesome. I had the cod which was over a potato with spinach, it was fantastic! My boyfriend had the frito misto which was also excellent. All plates beautifully presented and appealing. The desert a work of art! Highly recommended!

Absolutely delightful. Recommended by a local and what a good surprise. I believe we were the only partly foreigners (by partner is Italian). I had fritto misto as a starter and fried stockfish, memorable, both. And to finish, the best since I first tried this in London around 1999, a beautiful and delicious Pavlova!! :-) Goodness this was so good...... More

My wife and I visit this area 3 or 4 times a year. We are always exploring and experimenting but we have found nowhere better than Amarea and we keep returning. The food is invariably excellent and good value for money, the service manages to be both friendly and efficient and the clientèle are always interesting – mostly locals and... More

We had a marvellous dinner of seafood made effortlessly. Everything was beautifully prepared and piping hot. The desserts were picture perfect- especially the apple crumble, pavlova (meringue) with cream and berries and the chocolate mousse. Definitely not a place to eat everyday- too many calories but phenomenal in an unpretentious way.

There are several restaurants/bars alongside this beautiful seaside. But this restaurant is in terms of location, ambiance, food and service the best among them. They have a reasonably priced seafood menu up to EUR20. They are all well presented, which stimulate your appetite. A good wine list. Absolute worth visiting!

Bordigera is a relatively unspoilt seaside town, which has a sort of charming simplicity. Amarea is a 'beach restaurant' (stoney beach) located at the far end of the promenade. The decor is quite basic but adequate. The service is good and English spoken, although customers are mostly Italian. Our food was lovely! Well presented and tasty... Excellent spinach flan and... As in previous comments , do not be put off by the outside surroundings ! This restaurant serves seriously good food at reasonable prices. Having spent a week eating in France beforehand it was just a pleasure to eat some Italian food . Quality and presentation was faultless, this restaurant is a must if you are visiting bordighera !
