Traditional Ligurian specialities plus some original takes on those, well sourced and well cooked; predominantly fish dishes but a few meat dishes, plus the usual pasta etc. Good use of fresh herbs. They take their wines seriously: an amazing 30+ page wine list including 4...pages of excellent Ligurian wines. I asked for advice on a white Ligrurian to go with our fish and the patron recommended the cheapest (I think it's a good sign he didn't recommend the most expensive) and it was indeed very good: a Pigato by Enrico Dario @ €18. Service was friendly, professional and prompt. Menu is translated into English & French. The location is delightful: on a quaint pretty square in the heart of the old village, next to the church: quiet, shady, peaceful, historic... A few minutes walk from the nearby car park up narrow cobbled medieval lanes - the village is definitely to be explored.More

We went to Magiarge’ for the first time 12/13 years ago and since then we have always loved. Food is simple but not basic, tasty, reasonably priced. The wines List is very interesting. The owner is very friendly. During the years we have tried some...other similar places in Bordighera but Magiargé is still our favorite. We will go back next time.More

Besides the not so professional telephone call of the lady owner and the welcome upon entering the premises, this is simply one of the places you should not miss out on during sour stay in this region. Tipical Ligurian cuisine, and real good (unexpected) service....Kept up guysMore

On recommendation of friends we selected this small local restaurant and were not disappointed. Tucked away behind the church we almost missed it. Ambience was cozy and service very personal. The fresh fish dishes excellently were prepared with great care. A lovely dinner in a...great local restaurant.More

In 2006 I started working on the French Riviera. Despite being of Ligurian origins, I discovered the place thanks to the Michelin Guide. I have been many times. I went again last Sunday after two years absence. I loved it as usual. Food was really...superb, well presented, tasty and reasonably good priced. More than this, the restaurant is always very charming and you can feel their love for the place, which Is perfect in its simplicity. The Wine list is very interesting. Really and always a super gem!More

10/10! Everything is of the top quality. We've had codfish mash potato, anchovies pasta, trofie with pesto, grilled tuna, amaretto pudding for a desert, wine and grappa for drinks. Speaking of wine - we asked for suggestions, and did not regret this. Wine was amazing,...the one I've never tried before. Please ask for a wine suggestions, there are a lot of wines in the menu, easy to get lost. Excellence!More

This was supposed to be a quick lunch only it didn't turn out like that. The food and wine were so good we ended up staying a lot longer.... We dined in the square, we started with the caviar and blinis, then had the baked...fish, then the cheese. We polished off a local bottle of white then half a bottle of Brunello - I had a Mirto with my coffee. This is very well cooked food. The wine list is excellent too. This is a restaurant run with a knowing hand - it is a touch above most of the other places we visited in Bordighera and I would like to return for dinner next time. Grazie.More

Amazed to see anything less than top reviews for this place. The food is superb, we were with local friends who are regulars so maybe got special attention but judging from the atmosphere, everyone seemed to be having a good time and the service was...friendly and attentive. The main attraction is the wine. The owner is hugely knowledgeable and has collected wines over the years which he stores and brings out when they are at their peak and without the usual 100-200% markup which you'll get in most places. Added to a lovely setting whether your in or out, you'd have to be very unlucky to go wrong here. Ultimately, the bill was so low, I honestly thought he had made a mistake. Tried some other really good local places during our stay but, having been given the choice by our hosts, opted to came back here for more of the same on the last night.More
