Went last year with a large group and it was absolutely fantastic. Returned this year with another large group and had one of the worst meals in Italy. Our leader speaks perfect Italian so he ordered for the table (after waiting 20mins for any one to approach us and got orders for other tables that arrived after us). Got several... More

Our lunch at Porcavacca was great: the meat was super good quality and cooked to the perfect point (tender, not dry, not chewy, perfect!). Prices were very honest and definitely below what you would find, for example, in comparable places in nearby Florence. We sat on the outdoor terrace, which was great - but we also had a look inside... More

We tried just the past and it was really good! I had Pici Caccio e Pepe and it was creamy and well-seasoned. The price was ok, €9/€10.

The restaurant itself is quite a sight, a typical old macelleria! The Chianina was divine, so was the Bistecca Fiorentina... And their special potatoes.. Yum Yum!! The staff could have been a little more charming though..

The meat was excellent. I like my steak blue or rare. The chef largely got it right but in one case it was still chilly in the middle and another was overdone. Dont order the salad. It was iceberg lettuce only .... While tomato salad was poor quality Wine list ok. Service pretty disappointing. One of our party was a... More

This is the place to go if you want meat. They are known and have won awards for their meat dishes, specifically steaks. So, if you come here, it is for a specific purpose. We loved it. They had an amazing selection of great dishes and everything on our table was delicious. Cooked to order, it takes a little while... More

My partner and I went for lunch here last Friday. We walked in around 1pm and were told that the garden was open for lunch, not the inside. (I always prefer eating indoors, but it was beautiful out on that day.) The "garden" was actually the side street between their block and another. The servers here are very attentive and... More

We discovered this restaurant on a back street off the CentroHistorico while walking one evening and immediately decided we needed to eat there. Reservations were made by phone and our table was reserved and ready for us when we arrived. There are almost too many choices but our waiter did a very god job of answering all of our questions...
