Inventive, wonderfully fresh food. True to their Piamonte roots, the dishes are authentic and the food is very local (some even from the garden out back). The restaurant is off of one of Alba’s main squares—the Piazza Duomo, (Piazza Risorgimento), which makes for a lovely view and great people watching. The service is great. English speakers abound and they very... More

No tour of the Piedmonte is complete without a visit to Alba. Having arrived here around midday we were looking for a place to have lunch. Our eyes caught a modern glass (air-conditioned) box on the side of the square (no worries there's also a proper restaurant). But let looks not fool you and even if the menu is limited... More

If you stand in the middle of Alba and throw a rock, you'll hit a good restaurant, so competition is fairly stiff. We spent 8 days in this beautiful town and didn't find better food or better value than La Piola. Menu is limited - which for me is a plus point - and each dish is beautifully prepared. We... More

We had a very lovely meal at this romantic restaurant. For starters we had the zucchini flowers which were very good. The tuna salad was odd and overpriced. It was a scoop of American-style tuna salad with mayonnaise and I really couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be. The pastas were both great. We had a veal steak... More

The menu is limited but still has a wide variety of dishes to choose from. We had the gnocchi which melted in your mouth. Perfect. The Vitello Tonnato was great too. Well worth the visit. Great location in a beautiful city.

Lovely setting, tasty food, reasonable price! Run by the same family who runs next door 3* Michelin restaurant Piazza Duomo. Enjoyed our dinner there!

We had a very good lunch at La Piola! They have a nice terrace on the piazza and serve excellent food combined with some great wines. Absolutely recommended! Service is a little stiff.

Good choice also for vegetarians. Very affordable prices for food and wines. One bottle of local Riesling was 16 euros and food app. 10-20 euros. For dessert I can recommend the hazelnut cake with hazelnut ice cream; both local.

First of all, I'll say that I love pretty historic Alba. We luckily found this excellent restaurant for lunch to make it perfect. Small and friendly with delicious food. I am now a Vitello Tonnato addict - slices of roasted veal with a tuna sauce. Yum. The tourist center, by the way, is just across the square and they will... More

Thank you for such a wonderful evening of delicious food. The hors d'ouvres was so varied and the veal tartar excellent. To follow I had the veal ravioli (don't ask for grated cheese!!!) and a pasta dish for my husband. brilliant local wines. Atmosphere casual, lively, friendly, perfecto! To add to all this on the next table was Enzino, ex-comedian... More
