Real traditional food of THIS town

I have eaten several time since opening. I grew up here and my family has deep roots. This restaurant was founded to promote local recipes and I mean local to the town of ALASSIO, as opposed to outlining villages such a Solva. The local pesto is the local version. For is cooked and the menu is... read more

This place really impressed us. If you are in Liguria region try to find some time and come to this local place. We find here local people having lunch. Home made pasta and the menu for lunch was big selection. We had a homemade gasse pasta with ligurian pesto and potatoes which is their specialty. We really enjoyed it. Main... More

As Ligure traditional cooking goes, this place cannot be faulted. It comes at a good price for this tourist area. All dishes are not adventurous (this is not the remit of this place) but well prepared (house starters are a good way of sampling the variety of the offered choice).

If you want to try wonderfully cooked local dishes this would be the best choice. Prices are reasonable so don't get scared if you don't see any prices on the menu. Staff create wonderful authentic atmosphere. And in the end you might be pleasantly surprised by complementary dessert. Have been there several times during our holiday and each time enjoyed... Very good food, nice and characteristic place: great experience with friends. Better to make the reservation. Near by the city center.

Wow! This made a mark. It wasn't easy getting a table, so book in advance, preferably the beginning of your stay. When we were in Alassio for 7 days, one started to look for non-tourist traps. THIS is one of them. The food is genuine, very well prepared and tastes great. The menu offers a great selection, we both were... More

Alassio is a busy touristy place. But the unpretentious Osteria dei matetti at the Viale Hanbury 1 served great Ligurian specialities and the place was packed with the locals. I loved their exquisite raviolis, filled with wild herbs and the tajarin this time in green. The staff was friendly and efficient.

The best food and the best atmosphere. Crowded and (at times) noisy, with whimsical decoration and unfuzzy, friendly and fast service. Great food, of course.

Especially if you want to sample local Legurian dishes. Home cooking style with truely fresh homemade pasta that melts in your mouth in a relaxed yet a high energy place due to the volume of dinners. We had a 7:30 reservation, which you should call for. We were the first in the door but by the time we had our... More

My second visit same experience as the first, last summer: delicious food, I had pasta with fish roe followed by rabbit, both cooked to perfection. This is a 'local' restaurant, rather than tourist place, most of the staff don't speak English but don't let that put you off, if you like real Ligurian food you will love this place.
