The food was poorly executed and bland and the service mixed ( for example plate of local cheese put on the table with no explaination of what they were). Surprised George Blanc would put his name to somewhere as disappointing as this. Location is lovely.

Was there with friends. We ordered a 5 course meal 1,5 hours for the first course to arrive Fois grass, too little acidity to accompanying. Sine we had a time to leave for the airport, we had to push - but little happened Next dish,...Frog legs - overly grease Next dish Chicken, and they forgot the fries... Then our time ran out and we had to skip the last two courses But they charged for all 5 courses regardless So with quite poor and slow service, this is what it adds up to And not very many customersMore

Family visit, location was great; close to river with nice views and terrace. Food average, nothing more. Wine selection limited, you’d expect more from a restaurant in the category in the middle of the Bourgogne. Average, not great.

We ate dinner here on a stopover while heading South. The reservation was for 7.30 and we had a choice of table although the terrace area filled up soon after we were seated. We had a great view of the bridge and the staff were...cheerful and efficient. The menu is very traditional and comfortably limited to some classics. The local chicken was delicious as were the veal kidneys. I would recommend this for quality local cuisine.More

Ate lunch on the terrace on a warm day, excellent view of Mâcon across the river. Food was nice but not exceptional. Menu du jour had a berry milkshake for dessert which was pleasant enough.

On our way from Geneva to Burgundy we stopped in Macon for lunch and by coincidence hit French "Mothers Day". We had the gorgeous Mothers day's lunch, which included foie gras, rouget and Bresse chicken in its own juices (rather than the eternal cream sauce)....Finished with great desserts. So food was excellent. Service was impeccable. But the best part of this restaurant is that it is on the quiet side of the Saône - there are several good restaurants on the other side of the bridge, but their terraces are all noisy with the passing traffic. This was perfect for a Sunday lunch!More

In Macon of necessity for business, we booked this restaurant as it was one of only a handful open on Mondays. The welcome was warm and the service by smartly dressed staff was above reproach, and if you have little or no French they will...happily explain in English. The start, described as 'Cochon' turned out to be similar to the Burgundy classic jambon persillé and was delicious. My wife's main was anduilette (chitterling sausage) and she says it was good but she's has better. My king prawns a la plancha were a tad overcooked. Wine list is very impressive, but pricey. We paid 31 euros for a bottle of.Fleurie, and total bill came to just over 100 euros.More

In this typical french restaurant we went for a glass of our beloved Macon-Lugny wine. They didn,'t have this only a maconnais which was a very thin ordinairy wine. We paid 8 euro for a tiny glass. Unbelieveble but through. So ask for the wine...prices before ypu order !!More

Overpriced food and wine. Snail starter was good but main course of cod was tasteless. Partner had the Bresse chicken which at 29 euros for a small piece of chicken swimming in sauce and served with small portion of sticky rice was extortionate . After...seeing the size of other diners deserts we were glad we hadn't paid 10 euros. All in all a disappointing experience even if there is a nice view across the river.More

Well having read Urvo's review we might never have ventured back to this lovely restaurant. One of a very few open on a Monday lunch it was as delightful as we remembered. Not cheap but the food was healthy portions and nicely presented. More importantly...very fresh and delicious. This was in fact our third visit. Would certainly return although it is not an inexpensive lunch. More special occasion with family/friends. Best book in advance if you can as it was very busy.More
