A 'good' restaurant serving very good meals with a French twist. Very friendly and welcoming and run by British owners. Although not the simplest place to find, it is well worth the effort for the delights that are served up there. You will not be disappointed!

Taken by friends for our annual pilgrimage to Auberge Du Lac. Warmly welcomed, seated at our usual table in familiar surroundings. Something different? No set menus and no specials board. Only A La Carte on the chalkboard. Around 8-10 starters and similar number of mains plus 5 or 6 desserts. We were told menu changed daily according to market availability... More

Thank you for your review. Nice of you to mention Chinese whispers. Did you ask us what the truth was before you posted a rumour online? Pie of the day (you call it tarte) and fish & chips were both served with Mushy peas, Moules Frites is exactly as you would get in any restaurant in France, (Mussels and chips)... More

I recently took the family to this restaurant having read the reviews. Sadly it did not live up to my expectations The food was fine just fish and chips but nothing special especially for the money and the mushy peas were so sweet we just left them. The service was slow it took a long time for the food to... More

Thank you for taking the time to review our restaurant, of which we are very proud. It's a shame that you didn't raise your concerns while you were there. Surely it would have been fairer to let us know there was a problem and ask us to deal with it, rather than to go direct to the internet? It's incredibly... More

Accommodating and hospitable , we ate in the bar with our dogs , who were provided with a bowl of water without our asking . Starters were excellent , steak was more rare than medium but moules were lovely .reading other reviews I am disappointed that I didn't get any home made bread with them . Good price for two... This is my 3rd visit to Auberge Du Lac and never had a bad meal. The staff are friendly and very efficient. The restaurant is tastefully decorated. The meals are very tasty and very well priced. This will not be my last visit

We were in the area for a week in May 2016 and we came here twice to eat in the evening. Wonderful food but pace yourself if having a starter. The first time we had the tapas for 2 people and the chicken pie to follow. They were both delicious but we were stuffed after having them. No room for... More

We have been here a few times now, as a family, and they are always so accommodating...even with only a couple of hours notice! We usually have at least 1 vegetarian and 2 vegans in our group and we always have a wonderful meal with outstanding service and very reasonably priced too. This is now our restaurant of choice whenever... More

Thank you for your lovely review. We try hard to respond to people's special dietary requirements. We understand that it is not easy to find delicious vegan/vegetarian/gluten free food in French restaurants and care deeply about providing choice and quality. With 24 hours notice, we can offer choice and something made specifically for you, but can equally adapt things at... More

This was my third visit to this beautiful setting and how happy we were to return. The food, ambience, service and staff are all what can only be described as fantastic. We visit our friends in Normandy every Easter and this was the second year we have visited the Auberge. We shall be back next year I'm sure! Thank you... More

We love going to this restaurant the food is always great . The service is cheerful and you never have to wait long even when it's very busy .Please book first as its very unfair to give bad reviews because you turn up unexpected ,they may not have the staff to cater for you . The Sunday Roast is great... More

Description
Beautiful lakeside restaurant with bilingual staff (English & French). We produce fresh, homemade and original food in a relaxed and informal setting. All of our clients agree that we are worth the drive off the beaten track for lunch or an evening meal to remember! Close to Mont St Michel and the American cemetery at St James.
