We ended up here since the place we wanted to eat at was closed though it said it was open on their website. The service was nice but slow and it is obviously better to be a regular so one can have the lunch soup...because they booked ahead even if they arrived after us and none was left. We were offered a butternut soup instead and it was fine though mine had a curly white hair in it... The tuna tatami was quite good though the radicchio leaves that came with it did not do anything for the dish. My husband had the daily special which though called a petit salé was served without lentils which is usually served with it.I also had a Montbéliard piece of sausage, the cabbage which had been cooked with the meat was quite good but the rest of the vegetables which appeared to have been cooked apart lacked taste and basic spices. I would not recommend their salted caramel ice cream which had a bit too much coconut in it (there should be none) and lacked the distinctive caramel taste. The restaurant is quite small though they should be relocating in the near future and the chairs were quite uncomfortable.More

Small restaurant with pleasant staff. We booked for a Saturday evening and glad we did as it was very busy with the service a bit slow. The food was very good but the house wine was not as good as we expected. It was a...little expensive for the four of us but we enjoyed the eveningMore

I have been to Petite Gironde many times, it never disappoints. Cozy and charming, the food is thoughtfully prepared and presented. Best little restaurant in Lesparre. Nice wine selection. Very reasonable. Excellent service.

I've reviewed La Petite Gironde before. I have visited several times since and the standard of food and service has been maintained. My brother and I ate here for lunch recently. We split an "assiette de cochonnailles", which turned out to be assorted pork meats...including excellent black pudding. For the main course, my brother chose warm goats' cheese salad, and I had the "salade Périgourdine" that turned out to be the cochonnailles plus some extra bits plus the salad, which I should have known because I have eaten it before. With a half litre picket of house white and coffees, the bill was just over 60 euros. La Petite Gironde is a delightful place that I shall certainly visit next time I stay with my brother.More

Be aware that if you try to find a restaurant in a smal city inFrance when it is not between noon and two you might have to starve until the next city...This fantastic restaurant, La Petite Gironde offers not only amazing, typical, local dishes but it...will be done with a smile and an open mind. They have the respect of their customers, truly. We met Laurence ( bringing the delicatessen from Laurent in the kitchen) and they desserve the review. Do not bother going somewhere else because somewhere else, they were absolutely not interested by new customers and I have been told in one of them that they had met their quota or done their parts for lunch time....meaning, go to hell. Laurence at LaPetite Gironde welcomed us and brought us this fanstastic confit de canard for my husband and glazed salmon...The desserts and wine are so local and fresh, no mistake there. Eating at la Petite Gironde,no matter your citizenship, you will be welcomed and not seen as just a paying tourist...Laurence likes to have reservations but she will accomodate you anyway like she generously did for us. Not only a delicious food but also very nice and genuine owners.More

Very warm welcome from the delightful lady who is front of house. Lovely atmosphere. Good menu with interesting salads. Very good wine list and the one we had recommended to us was superb.

We visited twice in summer and were thrilled with the quality of the (all) home-made food. Our best dining experience in France! Clearly a talented chef, great thought has obviously gone into creating a menu with some lovely taste combinations. Lovely, efficient and friendly front...of house service and welcome, despite our very limited French language skills. A real gem, recommended without hesitation.More

Fantastic welcome for two poor speakers of French. Our hostess was warm and charming and patient with us. Food was made with love and we were delighted they understood what vegetarians were! Wine reasonably priced and local. A restaurant really trying to make a difference...in a town that is struggling a little. Good luck to them for their efforts (we're booked in again for lunch today!!)More

We ate here for lunch one day. Although La Petite Gironde does offer set menus, we ordered à la carte. We both chose the soup of the day, which was a tasty—asparagus, I think, perhaps thickened with potato. For mains, we ate salads. Mine was...the Salade Périgourdine, which includes gésier (gizards), magret de canard and other stuff along with the salad. It was excellent with lovely fresh greens and a good dressing. My brother chose the warm goat's cheese, which he enjoyed. We drank a half-litre of house red and a bottle of fizzy water. The bill was just over €40. The restaurant has a cosy atmosphere, and was full with locals. The service was good, and friendly. I would definitely go back given the opportunity.More

We went here for an evening meal with our family (six of us). The food was all home-cooked and well presented. The menu was small but had good choices and reflected the loacal cuisine. This was not a problem and was because everything was made...from scratch. They catered for children and our youngest had an excellent steak hache with fantastic home-made frites! We had a three course meal with wine. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The waitress was friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was good and the other tables were all french customers (always a good sign if the locals are there). Their salads were good. I though the pudding could have been better but maybe the selection for that evening wasn't to my personal taste. Definitely reccommend it.More
