A welcome surprise to find a vegetarian restaurant in the mountains. Superb hosts who are fluent in Dpanish, French and English and wonderful service. I'd recommend the Andalucian gratin and the Vegan orange cream is a wonderful way to cleanse the pallet. Cosy surroundings with...Jazz plaing in the background. This place us do good I'm going back again tomorrow.More

We enjoyed a superb meal at L’Atelier. Everything was delicious thanks to Brigitte and the personal service by Michel. It’s a delightful, cosy atmosphere in a charming town and I highly recommend it.

L’Atelier is a gem in the Alpujarras. The hosts Michel and Brigitte could not be more accommodating and the vegan/vegetarian food is excellent. Michel also has great taste in jazz to add atmosphere to your meal. The two-room B&B is clean, tidy and comfortable and...the breakfast of home-made bread and jams a delight.More

This was our first visit to L’Atelier, we went on Sunday evening, having reserved a table for 8pm, Michel seemingly was rushed off his feet as several guests seemed to arrive at a similar time, the service was a little slow, however the food and...(house) wine were fine, I had the risotto for my main, which was delicious, but extremely rich, so much so that I could not face eating dessert. My wife had the coconut curry, which she seemed to enjoy. The restaurant, which is also a B and B, is quite small, but set in a lovely position in Mecina, most diners are placed in the street directly outside the restaurant, which is fine. The problem for me is that as we were staying in Pitres, the return drive from Mecina, although only a few kilometres is hair raising as it is pitched black, the road is narrow and unlit, with barely room for 2 vehicles to pass, be warned.More

....with multi lingual Michel, Brigitte and their grandson. It felt like joining the family in their home for the evening meal in this cosy, atmospheric restaurant. The food was excellent with the glass of citron sorbet et ‘champagne’ to finish a delight. A relaxed environment...encapsulating the local area and people.More

We had visited this restaurant on previous occasions when it was under different ownership about 10 years ago, and we had had mixed experiences then. We were curious to see what it was like now. It is always nice to find a vegetarian/vegan restaurant, and...great if it is in such a lovely position. Altough tables are available inside, we were encouraged to eat outside, which effectively means in the cobbled street, not in a garden. That was fine, there's no passing traffic or people, and it is a beautiful little village with a stunning background. The menu looked interesting, but we were a bit disappointed when the food arrived. My quorn curry had a nice sauce, but was just, well, quorn and rice. My husband's order was mixed up, and we were not really sure what it was. It was ok, but that's about it. Pleasant owners, reasonable prices and the wine was not expensive. Do visit if you are a vegetarian/vegan and want a different experience, and make your own mind up about the food, this is just my opinion.More

Although we are not vegetarians, we love vegetarian meals. This is particularly important when visiting a carnivorous area such as the Alpujarres. So this restaurant was a find! Michel and his partner, Brigitte are from France and have lived in Spain for 40 years, the...last 10 being in the Alpujarres. Their meals are a wonderful melange of vegetarian fare. My wife and shared Indian rice with nuts and dried fruit in one dish and risotto with mushrooms and truffle oil for the other. DELICIOUS! Highly recommended and would return anytime!More

Even though I have been a vegetarian for around 15 years, it was Brigitte who showed me how good the vegetarian cuisine can be. She conveys all her passion through carefully thought dishes, always framed in elegant and beautiful plates because food at L’Atelier is...not only a gastronomic experience! Michel and Brigitte take the experience to another level. The ambience with a Morocon touch, the soundtrack, the attention the owners give to the customers... I wouldn’t say that whenever in Granada this place deserves a visit, I would say that Granada is also worth because of this pearl! Michel was right about something else: everyone enters as a customer as leaves as a friend.More

My wife and I called in recently for a lunch time meal. The resturant is quite small and they have several tables out in the street (No cars) as well as some cosy tables indoors. The service was good and we were made to feel...very welcome. We had in fact been once before some years ago and our appeared that the menu we unchanged, not that that was a problem for us. The food was really tasty and we'll presented. It was great to be able to look at the menu and be able to choose any dish knowing that it was proper vegetarian food. All in all, an excellent meal in outstanding surroundings. We will be back and this time won't be waiting for five years.More

Tiny vegetarian restaurant - great food, lovely service. They have a handful of tables on the street and I guess some more space inside. We had a great seaweed salad. In additional to a regular menu of drinks they also have Kombucha and Kefir drinks.

It's a charming little restaurant - you can eat inside or out: out means on the street in front. But don't worry: the only traffic in the narrow, white-washed street is pedestrian or feline. The menu is not extensive, it's fair to say, but there's...enough to choose from, and it features an intriguing blend of French/Spanish/Morrocan. Everything is freshly cooked and deliciously flavoured. You can combine anything with anything else - we had four starters (the portions aren't huge) and a main between us, and left feeling comfortably full. Enough choice of wine: the house white is very nice. Did I mention this is an entirely vegetarian restaurant? Well, it is. I'm not vegetarian but am always happy to give meat a rest as often as I can, and this place gives you the ideal excuse. It's not cheap, but it is reasonably priced for the quality and freshness, and the (French? Or is he Belgian?) owner is welcoming, hospitable and friendly. We've been three times. I loved everything about this restaurant. Go, if you can - it's a unique experience.More
