Very friendly staff, made welcome instantly and acknowledged that I required a vegan menu, certainly not the "awkward one" in the party. Attentive staff, excellent food and great choices on menu, Cannot fault it, best Vegan lunch out ever!! Other members in the party (non vegans) very satisfied customers

The girls and I went for a celebratory meal and we were delighted, astounded and possibly a bit aroused by the excellent food encountered at the Bay Horse. Consistently excellent food, arranged in dramatic and exciting ways to appeal to the eyes. Every morsel of food presented was exquisitely delicious. James and his colleagues were exceptionally professional and impeccably attentive... More

I've been meaning to try this place for some time, given the number of excellent reviews, and I finally got around to visiting it with a colleague for a business lunch. I wasn't disappointed. The outside is extremely deceptive as it just looks like any other village pub. Once inside, the décor and ambience is lovely but still nothing more... More

The restaurant was relatively quiet on the Sunday evening we were there but the atmosphere was just right. The ambience was as you might expect from a Michelin star restaurant and every member of staff we interfaces with was spot on in every way The Sunday Dinner menu had a good selection of choices which I assume was an abridged... We had been recommended the pub by friends as a must place stop for lunch after checkout at near by rockcliffe hall. We were not disappointed. As we hadn't long had breakfast we didn't eat too much which was much a surprise to me as to anybody! It was a shame because when looking through the menu, the food sounded... More

I Have visited here a few times over the years and had lunch recently so a review was long overdue. This used to be a village pub that did meals, it is now a restaurant with a small bar area. The decor is pleasant with stylish furniture but the seating is cramped and the tables too close, the service is... More

Amazing food - Michelin style and standard but not at all expensive. Intimate atmosphere; lovely staff and good service. Visited on a week night when it wasn't so busy but recommend making a reservation just in case. Well worth a visit!

Went to the Bay Horse this week and was sadly disappointed as I was really looking forward to returning. Yes the food is lovely in general, however, some of the ingredients as specified on the menu were not on the plate, with no explanation. For example, we paid £12.50 for scallops starter and there was only ONE scallop! The halibut... More

Have been her a couple of times recently for supper. Food is amazing and staff are very attentive. Can get a little noisy when busy.

Description
The Bay Horse retains an emphasis on the finer details of a real old English pub, hand pulled local ales in dimple glasses and side dishes served in copper pans. The menu is made up of classic British cooking with a twist & has a strong emphasis on flavours & presentation. The premise has achieved a Michelin Bib Gourmand for the last four years.
