I love this place! Food and atmosphere are excellent and whilst it ticks lots of the gastropub features it also has enough originality and quirkiness to make it feel that little bit different and stands out from the crowd as a result. Plus they do delicious vegan options - a welcome change to a lot of Somerset pubs!

Went to The George Inn, in Wedmore , after a treasure hunt around the village. We ordered the ham egg and chips and it was superb. The home cooked ham was excellent and the slices were very thick, the chips were homemade and chunky. The meal was served with two eggs and a spicey tomato chutney. I can thoroughly recommend... Lovely stay. Comfy rooms, very courteous and friendly staff. Amazing choice at breakfast..... Our son was very happy with the choice of " waffles & vanilla bean ice cream" for breakfast. Quality produce that made the most delicious "full English" highly recommend......we will be back!

Starters 3 OK one was white bait which was not very hot served on a bed of very limp lettuce. Four mains order only one was OK rib eye steak order this was very tough and only partial eaten by... We ate in the garden at the back where there is a small childrens playing ground and plenty of grass and space to run around - with stone walls and some nice shrubs and a walnut tree it's quite pleasant on a summers evening with a pitcher of Pimms. The menu was varied and service reasonable although the portions were... More

Stopped off for a spot of lunch at this olde English pub/restaurant/hotel last week, and very good it was too. My wife had crab tian, I had a round of crab sandwiches (we like crab!), washed down with a red wine and half pint of bitter. Service was friendly and welcoming, the food was plentiful and quality was good and... More

I'd ordered a ploughman's ,and what arrived with a huge platter with fresh and tasty looking food. Ill definitely be ordering that again. The lads... More

Went for lunch with 3 friends. Good and polite service, good food, both quality and quantity. Pleasant surroundings but it wouldn't have hurt to clean the Windows.

A very lovely cosy looking Pub with rooms, but looks are not everything. We arrived at about 10pm on the Friday night and after checking in went straight up to our room, we had asked for a room that slept 3 and allowed for dogs. The room was large but only had a standard double bed, and a camp bed... More

A dinner visit recently was absolutely fantastic! Very fab food and drink. The service was polite, and the inn was nestled in the beautiful village of Wedmore. Good atmosphere, nice interior.
