We locals come up here off season because we have the place pretty much to ourselves. How delightful! We love the fact that it's far from fancy but the food is homemade, seasonal and consistently good. Off season, you are guaranteed a window seat with spectacular views of the Madonna del Sasso, Laggo Maggiore and beyond. Moreover, you can enjoy... More

We visited late evening after a visit to the Madonna del Sasso at Orselina. The view from the terrace is superb. They have an English menu! Enjoyed a jumbo prawn spaghetti dish and a beef stroganoff which was awesome along with the beer. Food was served quickly, hot and fresh and it was excellent. Pricing felt right, not expensive as... After a long day out sight seeing we decided to get the Funicolare up to out hotel. Feeling rather worn out thought we would give this little restaurant a try. Well we weren't disappointed, the service was excellent, the food was surprisingly good, but the views were spectacular. The balcony over looks Locarno, the lake and mountains, we had a... More

Don't expect fancy food, drinks or service. This is your run-of-the-mill taverna that happens to enjoy a really nice view over Locarno and the lake.

We came here late in the evening after having found that most restaurants in Orselina were closed due to it being an off-season holiday weekend. Despite it being nearly closing time, they were kind enough to seat us. The views from the terrace are beautiful, and though we were skeptical about the food after reading the reviews, we thought it... More

We went here and had fondue. The food and service was very average, however the view was incredible. The bread for the fondue was slightly hard, and being vegetarians they did not offer much choice other than bread and cheese. Go here mainly for the view. It is quite expensive for the food.

We only stopped here for dessert in the afternoon, homemade carrot cake which was terrific. But, I'd love to come back for dinner - the views are simply stunning.

This is a lovely little cafe/restaurant perched on the side of a mountain just above the Madonna del Sasso church and opposite the funicular station. It is extraordinarily expensive (mind you, it's in Switzerland where nothing is cheap!) but the views are spectacular and the atmosphere peaceful and relaxed. We only stopped for drinks and cake so can't comment on... More
