The dogfish soup is just awful. The mest is only pork. Even the "cosido" is made out pf pork when it should be done with lamb.

We lunched here with a friend. To start we loved the homemade ricotta ( sorry I don't know the equivalent in Portuguese) salami and olives. The menu offers authentic traditional food that may test the palate. However we enjoyed our selection of Partridge and slow cooked thinly sliced Loin of pork. Both were served in a tasty jus with chips.... More

Adega Velha has some excellent food of Alentejo region. The restaurant is very typical, with the tables set inside a wine cellar, side by side with big wine amphorae were some of the wine that you drink there is produced. My favourite dish (and my daughter’s) is Perdiz Assada (roast partridge) and for dessert Encharcada.

Don't miss this place if you are traveling inside Portugal. Unique taste of portugees fish soup ( you can consider it a meal), with wine and kind staff ;):)

Great place if you are familiar with traditional (deep) Alentejo, fantastic if you want to discover what it was like. Only true local appetizers, main courses, and desserts in generous sizes. The house red is made the old way in large clay 'talhas' and is excellent, fresh, smooth tannins, fruity. All in all, a wonderful experience!

You really don't need luck to hear 'Cantar Alentejano' since many gather here to have a glass of wine and they start singing. Really good kitchen, eggs with asparagus 5/5, 'Paio' 5/5, bread 5/5. Also try the 'Sopa de Cação' really good. The wine is from the owners farm, it's not the best wine in the world but is really... More

Perfect place to have a family dinner, great staff and service, try the shark soup with the local red wine from the signature big vases. You will live it

The shabby entrance can be confused with other restaurants. Directly inside the wall is a bar. The walls here are filled with old radios. Further on is the restaurant with simple rectangular tables. Here you also find a large shelf on one wall filled with antiques. sorry to say, the personell does not take care of maintenance and purity of... More

It was a birthday of a special person. He choose this restaurant for us to celebrate. It's home. The food is home cook.. The wine is not the usual commercial wine again it's homemade, the get it straight from the clay pot. The owner Joaquim Bacao is such a lovely guy. I don't speak Portuguese but he made an effort... This little quaint restaurant in the centre of Mourao is definitely worth visiting. When we were going down the hill, we heard a song and thanks to that we managed to find this charming place. As we entered, we saw a nice scene: old portuguese gentlemen were singing шт choir and drinking local vine and having so much fun. We... More
