Went for lunch here mid week arriving at midday. It is so popular we had to wait for a table for half an hour, but definitely worth it. We had the fish and chips which were large but beautifully cooked with crispy batter. Gorgeous. Will be going back!

The Barrel Inn is on one of my cycling routes. There isn't a sign saying so but they are open for breakfast. I called in this morning and there was a friendly welcome and I ordered tea, coffee and bacon baps for me a couple of mates. Brilliant.

The Barrel is situated high on a ridge with spectacular views and great home cooked pub style food. We had the Sunday roast, probably the best we have ever eaten in a pub, followed by a delicious apple and sultana crumble. It was extremely busy but the service was excellent. Would advise booking.

The views in front of the inn mad it's worth a visit. Food wise, my friends and I got a pie (Steak & Ale) and Ribeye steak for dinner. The pie was good, but the steak was ok just. The cut of steak was a bit thin to my like and it made medium-rate less juicy.

Good food, good atmosphere, well kept beer. The place has been substantially the same for generations. A lovely respite from modern life.

This pub is in a great location with views across several counties so high up is it. The food is to die for with a lot of variety and well served for the vegetarian. Great beer and a good variety of wines. They do have accommodation. When it's cold there is a roaring fire really cosy a vert traditional place

The food is ok, kind of standard pub grub. Service ok. Views are stunning. Probably better to eat off specials board.

Close to Underleigh House (15 mins). Attractive, comfortable and good food. Large portions so beware! Beautiful views.
