We stayed 3 nights omin Taverna and ate there breakfast (included in price) and dinner. We cannot thank the staff enough. Fisrst of all, all really kind!
We said we were vegan and couldn’t eat almost nothing from their typical breakfast. They went and bought vegan spreads, jams, ‘milk’, margarine, prepared veggies ... we couldn’t even eat all of it! They were also very accomodating with dinner - vegan starters and meals (risotto is especially good). This is all new for them so huge thumbs up!!!
Rooms have a fantastic view of the vineyards and are really nice. I attached a pic from our balcony too. We highly recommend this place just tell them IN ADVANCE if possible if you are vegan. Thank you, Taverna :)

As we stayed in the hotel we had our dinners in the restaurant. What we liked most is that fresh local food is offered and you get good value for money. They also have a good house wine. The first night we had a grill platter with vegetables and fried potatoes. Unfortunately the vegetables were almost cold and could have come from a packet. The rest of the meal was good. The next day fresh fungi were on the menu. We had them as starters followed by a trout for me and a pork roast for my husband and both meals were tasty and the portions generous.
However, we feel that the quality is not quite the same standard which we experienced 2 years ago.

Great local restaurant with great service, food, wine, and views. We ate here twice while at a small B&B and enjoyed the exceptional service from Ales and awesome food recommendations. I loved the local estate red wine which was so inexpensive but of the highest quality. Go at sunset to enjoy the views. We had some great local Slovenian food but really enjoyed the pizza, French fries, and calamari pasta. Absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this place.

The location is nice, but it really feels a little bit to commercial. Low costs and a lot of people. Food was not that good, real mediocre (chips were cold and vegetables not fresh). Service was good.

"I was absolutely amazed by the quality of food at Taveran Kopljen. I went 2 times for dinner...and no complain. The flavors were authentic, and every bite was a comforting reminder of home. The presentation was beautiful, and the portions were generous. The service was also exceptional, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made the whole experience even better. If you're looking for delicious, homemade-style dishes with a touch of tradition, Taveran Kupljen is the place to go. I can’t wait to come back!"

We had a late lunch with the whole family, including our daughter who is a few months old (they have a changing table, they also offered us a quiet corner for feeding). The waiter was very friendly and helpful. Wine selection and advice from the waiter eas helpfull and correct. The selection of food is wide - many local offers, meat dishes and fish.
The only slip-up: my partner ordered the venison steak, minus medium, which was overcooked. They quickly corrected the matter and thus ensured that our experience was nevertheless very positive. The atmosphere is rustic, homely and very pleasant. But the views are wonderful - a must see spot.

It is a very good restaurant with amazing view, specially from a terrace. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. You shall try the ones marked with 3 stars - local specialities, will not be regretted. The staff is professional, customer oriented and friendly. Highly Recommended.

We have made it our tradition to complete a holiday at Taverna Kuplien. Also this year, and always an experience. The first time we sat in the house (it was already too cold, otherwise always on the terrace overlooking the Slovenian vineyards).
The food was very good as always, this time (not on the menu) porcini mushrooms in various variations and the veal back with mushrooms and croquettes. Likewise the palatschinke with wine chateau, really successful.
A perfect dinner, an attentive waiter, and value for money that is absolutely fine. We will keep our tradition...

We were here for 6 nights and still regretted having to go home. The food here is super tasty, as are the wines. The breakfast is also excellent.
The staff is very enthusiastic and super friendly, you feel that they enjoy their work. They all also speak decent German and/or English. And if you are interested in languages, they will be happy to teach you a few words of Slovenian.
The icing on the cake is the incredible view of the beautiful surroundings.
We have already been on holiday in many places and many countries, but this is an absolute highlight for us. We are already eager to go back.

We stayed 2 nights at the property and because it was on the 1st of July. Evening very delicious was eaten twice there. Reservation required. Very good wines are also offered. Menu is very large and so are the portions. Had sole ordered and 2! Get whole fish. My husband had the veal liver with fried potatoes. Both very tasty and recommended. Also the vespers boards and the grill plate at the next table looked very good. Fresh crisp salads. Value for money 🔝

Last minute booking in the afternoon for the evening - no problem - but probably inside ( no issue for us ). Ordening a recommended perfect sparkling wine, starter, main dish outside 😁 and a bottle of wine very easy. Sparkling wine was a Good choice and absolutely on time. After a while - our aperitive was ended - Risotto was perfect, the carpaccio indeed was a salad with with some meat 😔. But I missed the bottle of wine …. Main dishes were okay - ( but the plates of our starters were not taken away yet - Sincerely we’re allready finished half an our ) but that bottle wine was still missing and perhaps just a glass of wine was at that time of the evening a better idea. We share a tasty chocolate cake en asked for the bill, an another times …. We wait a bit, asked another waiter, but he has no permissions to make the bill …. So we asked another time if there was a problem. The other waiter asked is if we’re still waiting for the bill …. Yes of course !
When I go inside there was a globaal mess. The waiter was searching nervously our command, our bill …. I told them what we’ve eaten, so hé can make the bill. The bottle of wine he counter, the twoglasses of wine instead he forgot. I make him attend en finally we could leave for our hotel ….
