What a lovely place. First time visiting the Blacksmiths Arms and we will definitely return. The food was gorgeous. We were a group of 2 couples and 3 of us had the Santas Feast. The portions were very generous and nicely presented. There was thumbs up all round for all 3 courses. I'm a small eater and didn't have the... More

I've been here many times for food, had many of the different items on the menu. The ongllete steak is by far the best thing they serve and the best steak I have had from any restaurant. Lovely staff, very friend and accommodating with children. It has a really nice atmosphere and would definitely recommend visiting if you haven't been... More

I've eaten here many times and can't fault it. service, food and atmosphere is great. Had moules mariniere and sous vide steak tonight, both were spot on and best I've had in a long time. Well worth a visit.

We dropped in here on chance back from Whitby & we are so glad we did. The food is amazing. It was Sunday, but there was plenty of choice. We had the chicken Diane and the beef suet pudding. The wait was not a problem as it's cooked freshly. I have to say, this is probably one of the best pub... More

After having nice meals in the past was very disappointed this evening, we ordered creamy garlic mushrooms, these were not cooked and cold, we all had fillet steak cooked on the stone, one of the three steaks was very poor and chips were undercooked, creme brûlée desert was very runny and not to standard I would expect. Overall very disappointing... More

Went today for a 'simple' Saturday lunch and the food was outstanding. We had the mixed grill (massive and tasty) and the pork belly (amazing and so tasty). We have been here previously for Sunday lunch and it has to be tasted as you will have to go far to beat it. Highly recommend!!!

I have enjoyed dining regularly at the Blacksmiths Arms for more than two decades - always greeted with a warm welcome from the friendly and attentive staff and the anticipation of sampling a well-prepared meal from the extensive menu on offer, complemented, of course, by an appropriate tipple selected from the well-stocked Bar. A particularly warm reception awaits in the... More

What a great old Pub this is. My friends and I decided to visit hear as we had heard it served great food and also has a great atmospheric feel, they were so right, situated in the quant village of Swainby. We received a very warm welcome, we chose a table close to the log burner. Although we were the... More

I visited here on Friday night with my family for the first time. It was absolutely beautiful and we will definitely be returning soon! We enjoyed three different mains, the salmon, chicken and the suet pudding followed by desserts. Everything was delicious, the staff were fantastic and really friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed the homemade bread to start. Overall one... More
