This restaurant is delicious. Colorno is a small town that's hard to get to if you don't have a car, but it's accessible by bus. Al Vedel is upscale, but you wouldn't know it by just the location. It's a very nice surprise. I visited here June of 2015 but am new to Trip advisor so I'm reviewing it now.

I read about this place in a magazine so was keen to eat there on our trip around Northern Italy. The service was excellent, the food was outstanding and the recommend wines were superb. We also enjoyed the interesting tour of the cellar where their charcuterie is stored. It will be difficult to find without a car but it is... More

Al Vedel is an upscale restaurant which is part of Padere Cadassa, a prosciutto producer in Colorno which is about 20 KM north of Parma. You can have a nice meal here and take a tour of the aging cellars. We were there on a Saturday for lunch and the place was quite full. It is big, and is apparently... More

Nice local food . Hard to get there without a car but worth visiting. They have a culatello cellar so if you ask them in advance you can take a tour as well.

Good local food, good service and an overall good time was had by all. The food is typical for the region but they do have a few surprises on the menu with a clear French influence. The excellent culatello is made on site - ask for a tour of the cellar.

What a place!!! We had a recommended tasting menu which gave us a chance to try all the best the restaurant could offer. When a dish is served, the friendly personnel give you a break down on how it was prepared. We asked tons of questions related to the production of culatello and all of them were answered with great... More

Charming restaurant in a tiny village. The restaurant has been in the same family we believe for five generations, and 700 years as a restaurant and producers of the finest cullatello and salami. Terrific service and delicious food. We would recommend you try the selections of antipasto of mixed meats or the different aged group of culatello. The battuto (a... More

We enjoyed this restaurant so much we went back. I couldn't agree more with the other reviewers! This is an unexpected gem. Just the charcuterie platter is worth the drive. The waiter was helpful and gave excellent recommendations. We went with culinary students who enjoyed the food as well as the tour. Highly recommended!

In a small town like Colorno near Parma guess what we found a Trattoria which really was beyond our expectations. To start with a very warm professional greeting, followed by well tied up décor and a visible wine cellar in the entrance area, owner themselves are very active in taking & suggesting orders. After a wonderful dinner owner was proud... More
