The four of us spent an all-round successful evening at Medikon. We were given a really warm welcome and it began with a fine aperitif (with an eye-catcher: ΜΕΔΙΚΟΝ written in the ice cube) right on the beautiful harbor basin of Agios Nikolaos at sunset. The restaurant couldn't be more beautifully located.
Because it was getting a little chilly, we moved inside the restaurant for dinner, which is really tastefully, modernly and yet comfortably furnished. (Thank you for taking our special request into account so kindly!) We also felt completely at home thanks to the consistently friendly and attentive service.
The food was excellent, we were all delighted (from fish soup, octopus and ceviche to linguine with shrimps to lamb fricassee and lamb chops). In summary: Excellent cuisine that shows off its Greek roots in the finest way.
The accompanying wines were also excellent.
What I particularly liked was the atmosphere, there was enough time between courses and even after dinner we were invited to round off the evening with a fruit platter. I can't think of anything that could be done better and I'm looking forward to being able to end our last evening here with a culinary feast.

Although this was the most expensive of the restaurants we visited during our stay, it was worth every penny.
Benefitting from a perfect harbour side position in the beautiful village of Agios Nikolaos, the menu could be described as a little more sophisticated than what is on offer in the majority of Greek Tavernas.
If you don’t mind the passers by walking close by on the short promenade, eating out on the terrace and enjoying superb food is a joy.
If your preference is for a little more privacy, then a beautifully presented restaurant allows you dine indoors.
Food was excellent (see photos), staff were attentive and friendly, wine was delicious and we would not hesitate to recommend or visit again.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the owner of the company we rented a boat from for the day. On the port a small welcoming terrace, an interior in a vaulted cellar and a very pretty garden at the back. The menu revisits typical dishes in a bistronomic style and it is successful. The service is impeccable but relaxed. Our server gave us very good advice, notably by introducing us to an excellent Greek wine. Small detail to note, an amuse bouche is served while waiting for the dishes and accompanied by a surprising and delicious smoked tzatzíki. More than recommended.

We were two couples and decided that there were so many dishes we all wanted to taste we shared our menu choices.
The pumpkin with basil oil ‘amuse bouche’ signalled we were in for a taste sensation of a meal.
To start we shared the sautéed mushrooms with thyme, cream of local Gruyère, cauliflower purée with white truffle oil, the mixed seafood platter and from the ‘raw menu’ the catch of the day ceviche - all were presented beautifully and delicious.
To follow we ate the sardines cooked on a hot salt block - absolute perfection! The slow cooked lamb was meltingly soft with a little bit of crunch on the outside, the pulse salad and green salad complemented both dishes.
We drank a lip smacking dry white wine - the name of which I forget! but it was the first on the list.
There were a few hiccups with the service which were put right immediately and without quibble, it was attentive and efficient but not over bearing.
It was without doubt the best meal we’ve had during our stay.
It is more expensive than your usual Greek fare but well worth the extra cost.
I would highly recommend a visit.

We found this gem of a restaurant while vacationing in the Peloponnese Peninsula. The menu is innovative and delicious & the staff are delightful! I particularly appreciated the blankets and heater for their lovely outdoor eating space overlooking the harbour as in early May the evenings were chilly. Costa our waiter was a lot of fun & the meal was superb from start to finish. The kitchen staff even provided us with free samples of a yummy grouper potage at the start of our meal & white chocolate mousse at the end. Best resto in Greece! Don't miss it 😁

In the middle of the harbour front restaurants. Excellent service and food. Wine is considerably more expensive than all other restaurants but it comes in a bottle and is still good quality and value compared to U.K. prices . Beautifully presented food. We thought it compared to the Ivy restaurants in the U.K. Our meal for 2 came to 105 euro. We shared a seafood starter, each of us had a main course and we also had ouzo, a bottle of wine, coffee and brandy. Complementary apple desert with a fruit liqueur. It was a great treat. It was always full and you can reserve a table on line.

The Medikon Mediterranean Cuisine restaurant is situated in the pretty fishing village of Agios Nikolaos in the Peloponnese peninsula of Greece and is about an hour and a quarters drive from Kalamata where the main airport for the region is located. The restaurant itself is situated in the centre of Agios Nikolaos adjacent to the harbour where you can eat and enjoy your food whilst looking at the clear blue water of the Mediterranean Sea. We visited the restaurant twice and on the first occasion shared a Coq au Vin, which was lovely. On our 2nd visit the penultimate evening of our holiday we decided to treat ourselves with a fish main course and dined on a beautifully served Groupa, which tasted fabulous. This was accompanied by a wonderful dry white wine from Northern Greece. We were also generously given two light starters to enjoy from the staff whilst we waited for our fish to be prepared. The staff were friendly and highly professional at all times. Definitely if you are visiting or staying in Agios Nikolaos be sure not to miss the Medikon for at least one of your dining our experiences.

This is a new restaurant in Aghios Nikolaos that I visited twice in August.
The environment is fantastic both inside and outside al though I found the interior decoration of the open air backyard amazing. It’s an open yard with a state of the art bar and seating with ceiling fans that make the place cool and mosquito free.
The cocktails are well priced and of very high quality made by a Barista (I am stating this because it’s very rare in the area..).
The food is amazing - starters try the seafood dako, the Greek salad, and the exquisite octopus on fava.
For the main course we tried the Coq au Vin Greek style, the Mani pasta , the orzo with prawns and wine, and the Lamb … all cooked to perfection. I did see the neighboring table order a Tomahawk steak which also seemed cooked to perfection !
For desert we had the crème brûlée and the chocolate selection… a pleasant surprise as only 1 other restaurant offers a proper desert menu in the area.
The service was excellent, the owner visited our table twice to check we were happy. Waiters were available, friendly but not overbearing.
Finally in August they have the most amazing live group that plays jazz plus other music - a night we will all remember !!!
Two actually 😁

We visited Medikon on a local recommendation and we could not have been more delighted with our meal. We have been visiting the area for many years and this restaurant is a wonderful addition to the fishing village. The food was fantastic - we ordered both steak and seafood, and the flavours and presentation were excellent. The decor of the restaurant also is beautiful (a visit to their garden is a must) and the view over the harbour is lovely for the sunset. The staff were also very welcoming and took a great deal of effort to ensure we had a most enjoyable meal. It was so lovely we visited again another evening during our stay! We would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant.

We had a great Christmas Special lunch. No reservation, still very welcome. A special Christmas 2024 menu: it gave a very good feeling and this kitchen contents a specialist! Lovely starters, selected choices, high quality. Superb matching wines, very reasonable pricing an eye-opener for us as regular visitor of this part of the Mani. Many thanks to the team in the kitchen and lovely staff in the restaurant.

Medikon is by far the best restaurant in the Mani peninsula and among the best in southern Greece. The quality ingredients, depth of flavor and impeccable culinary execution are truly noteworthy. Standout dishes include the lobster pasta, tomahawk steak, fresh grilled grouper, octopus appetizer, seafood antipasti, and the Greek salad. We would also highly recommend testing the bartender's skills, you won't be disappointed. Every drink was perfectly made and stunningly presented. We liked it so much, we had dinner there 4x in a week and breakfast 3x. If you are anywhere near the area, don't miss this restaurant!

We took an early morning walk along the coastal path from Stoupa to Agios Nikolaos (about 4 km). When we arrived we came across Medikon right on the harbour front. The setting was delightful and we are able to watch the numerous small fishing boats come and go and unload their catches. Its amazing to see the sustainable, traditional practices which are in use. We opted for the "Breakfast Continental" which was a mixture of freshly baked breads, croissants and breakfast cakes served warm with a range of jams, honey, hot coffee and fresh orange juice. There was more than enough for even a hungry lad like me! Great value for money at only 10 euros. All the staff were amazing the picture shows the manager Costas and Soritis (sorry if I have misspelled I did write the names down but lost the paper!). The rest of the menu looked excellent also, we will be back!

Visited twice during our 7 days in Mani. The restaurant had attentive staff without being intrusive. Food very high quality. I personally would recommend the Sofigada a traditional vegan stew, based on Figs but has a subtle spicy flavour which is memorable and impressive. The dried figs had been soaked in red wine overnight which changed them for the better. The cook explained that it is a traditional recipe rediscovered and uses only local ingredients. I am not a vegan but if all vegan food is as good as this - well I could be!

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve meal here yesterday. The menu was absolutely delicious, with careful planning and superb execution of several courses. To have Lobster followed by shrimp ravioli then wild boar with quince was a delight for the senses. Bravo to the Executive Chef and all the staff! A special mention for Stavroula who commands the front of house and really knows her Greek wine!
