We took parents there for a Christmas treat. On arrival we were greeted and our coats taken and hung on hooks just inside the door. The menu was small but interesting. The fillet steak was well cooked but tough. The Rioja was fizzy and we had to send it back. It was a disappointing meal. When we came to leave... More

We have visited the Little Gloster many times in the past and always enjoyed alfresco dining in glorious weather at the is superb location overlooking the Solent. On this occasion it was a quiet Friday and it had that end of season 'we can't really be bothered' feel from the waiting staff. We were not told anything about the specials... More

We came here for our last meal on the Isle of Wight, and felt like we'd made a great choice. Food was good - my wife in particular enjoyed her fish greatly. Our 4yo daughter was made to feel very welcome by the nice waiting staff too. The staff were very helpful and advised us on what route to take... More

I had the 'Crab and garden herb crusted Hake fillet'. The fish was cooked beautifully and the presentation was outstanding. This restaurant has a lovely garden/eating area the backs directly onto the water with views across to the mainland, It was a little cold when we visited but despite this we chose to sit outside because we wanted a uninterrupted... We booked on a Sunday morning for lunch the same day, but I sense we struck lucky, the restaurant was pretty full throughout our time there. Friendly and efficient service. Kitchen is brasserie style, so puts some constraints on what can be offered on the menu, but still a varied choice. Ingredients very fresh, particularly fish, nicely presented, portions medium... Visited for lunch , on the strength of a recommendation . We were pleasantly surprised on approaching , to find a highly accessible and commodious car park . The restaurant is an attractive single-storey ,in light colours , on the sea shore . We were welcomed by a very pleasant waitress ,who took our coats ,and showed us to an... More

We had read a number of excellent reviews about The Little Gloster and we were not disappointed. Breakfast was a great way to start a Sunday. The Weekend Detox Juice was a tasty opener, followed by poached eggs, avocado, streaky bacon, chilli and mint on toasted sourdough bread. All rounded off with a perfect cappuccino. My brother, visiting from Australia,... More

I am a local and I've eaten here before but not for a couple of years and I was looking forward to having lunch today as part of a family gathering. Sadly what I thought of as a nice, stylish and good restaurant in a great location with stunning Solent views served up a disappointing experience and left me feeling... More

As it was my husband's birthday I decided to treat him to a Little Gloster breakfast. It was closed when we arrived at 8.45 so we waited until 9 as the sign on the door read "Breakfasts 9-11am". At 9 the sign remained closed and, smelling bacon wafting our way, we went round to the back door to enquire. A... More
