The location is peaceful and perfect for a summer lunch - the food is amazing, top quality. The cheese and ham platters, and then some tasty pork cheeks, very soft and tender and tasteful meat, accompanied by potatoes and mushroom. Polenta and gorgonzola cheese - a traditional dish. And then a lovely tiramisú. Will definitely go back.

This fantastic restaurant is located in an amazing and peaceful scenario surrounded by the threes but still very close to the city of Lugano (around 15 minutes by car). The service is friendly and professional all of the members of the staff are smiling and careful. The food is amazing and the quality offered is very high! I tried many... More

This is one of the best "Grottos" I visited recently. Very friendly and quick service, although all the tables very occupied. Excellent local food and reasnoable prices for the different wines, as well for all the plates on the card.

At Cavicc you will have good traditional food prepared with carefully selected and seasonal ingredients, served by a family of friendly, yet professional, hosts.

Restaurant is nice. Food was good but oven potatoes are not my favourite. Not really suitable for kids. Just one dish was on the menu for kids. We were a little early so the restaurant was a bit empty but it just lacked atmosphere. No background music so it was deadly quiet and even though the waitress was nice it... More

The Grotto Cavicc is a popular traditional restaurant, well-known and much appreciated by the locals in the Lugano area. It's situated in the shady side of the woods on the "Collina d'Oro" (Golden hill), where other "grotti" are situated. In Italian, the word "grotta" means "cave". By extension "grotto" - or "crotto" - is a typical southern-alpine refuge, or cellar,... More

We ate some polenta dishes and it was all excellent. We truly enjoy the decor and being seated under the trees. Service was professional and friendly, lots of parking in front or just off the road. A good place.

We were in the area to tour the Hesse museum and do the walk; we stopped here because it was a place Hesse frequented. The food we had for lunch was quite good. Our first waitress did not speak English, and as we did not speak German or Italian, they were quite accommodating about getting us service in English, for... More

Nice location, but this place was reviewed in Tripadvisor as having the best spare ribs in Ticino. NOT TRUE! I ordered the spare ribs and my wife ordered the roasted chicken. We arrived early, then ordered rather quickly. Our plates arrived in about 15 minutes, but it takes much more time than this to grill the ribs and roast a... More
