Let me have the scone recipe.........!

I have been going to this coffee shop since it opened and seen it grow and develop. Two extensions (one unfortunately on top of the terrace/patio) have been added. Also, various improvements such as the addition of a coffee/cake counter - something other places could learn from -the removal of the... read more

They get away with these prices only because the shop is so lovely to while away the afternoon. Yes the food is good but I have aid less at an a la carte restaurant, it is only a cafe after all!

My most recent visit was for an afternoon cream tea. I often have coffee here and have eaten scones, sausage rolls and cakes on several occasions. It is not cheap, and a number of reviews complain about the cost of the food. In my opinion you get what you pay for, and I do not think one can fault the... More

This is for a break when browsing the Garden centre. Drinks are freshly brewed and snacks and cakes really fresh.

I love this garden centre and its popular coffee shop. Quiche is a must for lunch + a great selection of cakes or scones for afternoon tea.....it's so relaxing there you forget the time! Following this you can meander in the garden centre both inside and out.

This has to be the best food ever in a garden centre, i have visited many times over the years but today brought it home how good Perrywoods is, the ham ploughman's sounds just an ordinary booring lunch, don't be fooled it is a delight especially with a portion of triple cooked chips and the home made coleslaw lovely food... Enjoyed looking around the garden centre & thought I would pop in the restaurant for tea & cake. The most expensive piece of cake in my life! This is sooo overpriced & in this day & age really??There is no point in the garden centre if there is more demand for a canteen. The old people in Tiptree are keeping... More

Hello - I'm sorry you feel this way. Our cakes are all homemade and a lot of effort goes into making and decorating them, which is why we feel they are good value for money. The most expensive ones (£4.99 for a generous slice) are often triple layered with icing, decorations etc. There are always cheaper options such as tray... More

I seldom eat breakfast out and if I do I am so often disappointed, not today this is as good as I can do myself. Lis had the Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs a huge portion beautifully prepared. I heartily recommend this cafe and the added benefit of the Wilkins Jam Factory Shop in the same building awesome don't miss... More

Thanks for the review but think you may have meant to review Wilkins Tea Room in Tiptree? We don't have a jam factory here alas! Hannah More
