Whether you go for coffee and scone/cake or lunch or dinner you will not be disappointed. Daily menu for lunch and dinner. Good selection of beers, wine etc also. Setting is second to none. Sitting outside in the sun looking out over the local countryside can't be beaten.

Popped in for a break from cycling. This is quite a cyclists stop by the way. It was a Sunday morning and good to see that they were open. But oh, what a shame that they only serve cake until 12 noon. Shame, not! Haha, Just have to have a slice of cake for breakfast! Really tasty and good selection.... More

Cheese scones and coffee are the very best. One of my favourite places with a fabulous view looking over the hills. Have enjoyed Buchanan's on many occasions. Sadly on the last occasion we waited 30 minutes before being served or even given a menu so we got up and left. The restaurant was fairly busy due to an exhibition at... More

Arrived at 11.03 am. (Watch if you haven't been here before and you're driving into Banchory. If you follow the sign and turn immediately right then you end up on a road to nowhere which is what we did. Instead of arriving at 10.45 we arrived just after 11.00) Unfortunately at 11.00 (precisely) buchanans stops serving brunch and we were... More

We visited here for lunch that unfortunately never happened, for the first time ever we decided to pay for our coffees and leave hungry. The place was pretty quiet, and when we normally visit we are told we can pick where we want to sit and the waitress (the one with the black curly hair, lovely personality) is right over... More

Wonderful place specialising in delicious and imaginative soups sharing platters, and an array of cakes; they also have more standard fare. They brew their own beer, bake their own bread and much more. Friendly smiling service and very good value for money.

Just love it. Food, ambiance, food and food again. Local, organic, good wines, lovely location, great staff, AMAZING bread. I always judge a restaurant on how good the bread is when it arrives on the table and this bread is specialist bread baked freshly every morning. SUBLIME. Would you ever believe a local arts centre could get it so right.... More

We were lucky to have a meal here as the restaurant was fully booked because of a production in Woodend barn. We had arrived early and the staff were quite happy to accommodate us. It was a delicious meal , my friend said the best food outside of Glasgow, with unusual dips and salads and delicious main courses with scrumptious... More
