We walked from the NT car park down the road. And it was a great little stop for a tea and cake and watching the world go by (and the steam train) You can also get a great bacon sandwich made fresh!

Always call there prior to walking back to Lostwithiel through Respryn Woods with the dogs. My friends and I love the sandwiches and homemade cakes, cheap prices and always service with a smile...well done

The lady who runs this cafe is always happy and friendly and greets you with a smile. I had tasty pannini. The cakes are also tasty. Not had breakfast there yet as always up too late. Looks lovely. One day.

My brother Nigel Bennett started the Signal Box Cafe back in the 1980's shortly after it closed as a working signal box 30th May 1985. He ran Parkway Taxis and his wife Lorna ran the Cafe. When my brother and his wife retired, Bodmin & Wenford Railway negotiated with the railway company and it over and still run it today.... More

Great service, big breakfasts, at sensible prices and good location. This cafe is not in the town, it's at the train station but it's definitly worth the 5 minute drive. It's also nice watching the trains go by whilst eating. Very impressed with this little cafe!!

My partner and I stopped here for breakfast, whilst waiting for our train to arrive.. I had a bacon and egg bap and my partner had a full English breakfast. The portions were big and were great value for money. It's lovely to watch the trains passing by whilst having a scrummy breakfast... We will definitely return. Five stars all... More

We go to The Signal Box most weeks after a short walk from Resprin Bridge Lanhydrock, The ladies are lovely and every thing is freshly made, coffee is very good and cheese scones are a must. It's a very unusual place to have coffee an old signal box but that's part of the charm, watching people dashing about whale you... More

Bought an egg and bacon bap each, a tea and a coffee whilst waiting for the train. Service was quick and the rolls were top-notch quality and good value at £2.70 - well worth it!

Description
One of my stranger suggestions. Run by the charity who operate a small branch line which meets the main Paddington to Penzance line at this station, the old signal box, up a short staircase is a quaint but friendly and hospitable snack bar on an otherwise isolated and inhospitable station. The limited profits go to the charity but the food is tasty simple and very good value. A useful novelty that might otherwise go unnoticed. Worth a listing.
