Lovely food and reasonably priced. Our waitress and waiter were excellent and we all enjoyed £5 cocktails after 9pm!! Only downside was that the background music was much too loud and we all had to shout for most of the night!

Had an excellent meal here. It was a cold miserable evening and from the moment we entered 'the Ava' we had a great night. Warm, welcoming and great food. We ate from the 'valentine' menu. A well thought out and excellent value menu. Every course was delicious and a cocktail & wine were included. Honestly couldn't fault anything. Service was... More

Hi Gerry, Sorry to hear you weren't a fan of our fish and chips. Help us get to the bottom of your review, what date and time were you in dining with us? Did you voice your concerns to a member of staff? Many thanks, The Ava Winebar Team More

The refurbishment and temperature were excellent. Greeted and seated by one of the very courteous and pleasant staff on duty. The starters and mains we ordered were of a very high standard. All of us said we would return and also recommend it to anyone.

Had a lovely Sunday afternoon visit to the Ava. First time visiting since it had been refurbished. My husband had the Sunday special which was a starter (spicy tomato soup)and main course(Sunday roast) for 10.95!!! He throughly enjoyed it. I found it hard to chose from the menu as there was a lot. I had a large chicken Caesar salad... More

I always can be sure of the food and that is why I like to eat here when I am visiting Bangor. More often than not I would go for the 2 course special. Soup and the roast is very tasty. I also do like the wee Guinness loaf that you get with the soup. All for the price of... More

The food at the Ava is okay. It is nothing special to be completely honest. The last time I went (and I have been a good few times), the burger was pretty tasteless but at least the beef was cooked right. It could have used better seasoning. Also, the barbeque sauce is nice with the fries. My problem however, is... More

Description
The Ava Winebar has undergone a complete refurbishment and has been transformed into a classy, elegant and on trend wine bar. We are ideally situated on the corner of Main Street opposite Bangor bus station and the post office. We are open seven days a week for lunch, tapas, dinner and drinks. The future of The Ava is an exciting one, especially with a complete reboot of the drinks menu, now knows as 'The Drink Bible' with its quirky illustrations and finishing touches. The food menu has also been revamped and expanded upon, proving that even the pickiest of eaters can find something they will enjoy. For those who are looking something a little lighter a new bar menu has been introduced which features tapas and selected wines by the glass. The newly renovated spot is also expecting a new beer garden and a re-branding of the cellar bar.
