Called in for a birthday lunch. Lovely atmosphere, great service and delicious food. The venue has a wide variety of choice taking into account all kinds of tastes. Will definitely be back soon.

We visited this lovely restaurant for lunch today to celebrate a family event. Staff were very attentive and the food was delicious! Varied menu and reasonably priced. Look forward to going back again soon!

My daughter and I visited The Ava Winebar this morning for breakfast and were not disappointed-she raved that her French toast and bacon was best ever and my fry was delicious. Fresh juice and coffee were perfect too and all in all excellent value. Love the new surroundings and the music in the background was just right. Looking forward to... More

The Ava has always been a firm favourite with our family and where we go to celebrate important occasions. This was our first visit post refurb. Unfortunately we did not have the advantage of being served by familiar faces - we were not made welcome and we left before ordering dessert because basically no one came to see if we... More

Hi 281Leonnave, We are sorry you felt your experience at The Ava Winebar was disappointing. We apologise that you did not feel welcome as we assure you that is not our intention. We are in the process of hiring more staff as we realise that a high influx of diners makes it hard for staff to give each table the... More

Came for a family celebration. It was excellent - food service and craic. It's the first time I've had a night out / meal in Bangor that had the Belfast quality . The Ava is a breath of fresh air that I would recommend to anyone. From a quick nosey around and seeing building work upstairs I can see more... More

This restaurant is really lovely, smart decor and very relaxing.. The staff are very attentive and friendly. My friend and I both had the special lunch which was delicious and very reasonable at £10.95 for 2 courses. The only downside was the toilets which could have been cleaner but the restaurant is in the middle of a refurbishment so hopefully... More

We went for an evening meal, first time since it has been refurbished. It looks much better now than before, more open, brighter and more upscale. Apart from that there were very few positives. When we arrived our waitress reluctantly showed us to our table as if we were not welcome, took our orders with disinterest and put the food... More

I used to be a regular visitor to the Ava and decided to go just after it opened. It was a Saturday about 1pm. The new menu whilst good is more expensive which will drive people away and no longer has the lunchtime special deals. The staff are still the same which is good as they are excellent. The most... Hi Roger, We do have the lunchtime special on for 2 courses for £10.95 however it is on our specials board which is shown to each table when they are given their menus. We are working out a few kinks with our entertainment over the weekends and have taken your comments on board, over the coming weeks we will be... More

We visited Bangor for the day and decided we'd give the new-look Ava a try. The restaurant is beautifully presented and we were greeted by, who I assume was the lead server who was a very bubbly polite lady who seated us quickly at a busy lunch service. Our meals were first class, the food is clearly of a very... More

Description
The Ava Winebar has undergone a complete refurbishment and has been transformed into a classy, elegant and on trend wine bar. We are ideally situated on the corner of Main Street opposite Bangor bus station and the post office. We are open seven days a week for lunch, tapas, dinner and drinks. The future of The Ava is an exciting one, especially with a complete reboot of the drinks menu, now knows as 'The Drink Bible' with its quirky illustrations and finishing touches. The food menu has also been revamped and expanded upon, proving that even the pickiest of eaters can find something they will enjoy. For those who are looking something a little lighter a new bar menu has been introduced which features tapas and selected wines by the glass. The newly renovated spot is also expecting a new beer garden and a re-branding of the cellar bar.
