I have just returned from a 3 day stay with my partner who was in the area for work. The hotel is in an excellent location , the very centre of Pickering . Right on the doorstep for shops, restaurants , and the train station. The village is extremely pretty ! We stayed in one of the hotel rooms which... More

Got a table on a Monday night without booking for two adults and three kids. They were all out of kids activities packs but brought games to keep the kids occupied whilst we waited for food. The beer was good - plenty of choice - and the menu nicely diverse. The kids had cold cuts and the adults had burgers.... More

We dropped in for a snack lunch and enjoyed the experience wishing we were able to return for a dinner! The lunch menu was very innovative and reasonably priced. We enjoyed a starters of Mussels and Fish cakes. Both were delightful.

When I ate here we had a lovely table at the front of the bar at the window. The menu had great choice and lots of nice things to pick. I really enjoyed my meal, it isn't my first time eating here and I don't think it will be my last. I also liked that when ordering tea the pot... More

Popped in for a quiet drink whilst camping. We paid £9.20 for a pint and a single vodka and coke I also watched someone pay nearly£7.00 for a glass of wine ( clearly not impressed ). Will not return.

Family meal with a voucher received as a gift. Good range of choice with plenty of local fare. Nice atmosphere & favourite beer (Taylor's landlord) being served. An upmarket "gastro pub" type, but prices not too high. Ordered the bacon chop which was so large couldn't eat it all.

The food was excellent and the wine was gorgeous! I really want to come again and I defiantly would recommend coming for an evening meal or just a snack. The atmosphere was very nice, and the staff here have been very friendly too. The word I would use to summon this pub is amazing, even the dog loved it!👍🏻😀😍

Food was delicious however the service was not the highest standard. Whilst the staff were friendly they were not efficient and we waited a long time.

Description
The kitchen at the White Swan is focused on doing very little to excellent local ingredients with very rarely more than three flavours on a plate. We make just about everything from scratch in cluding the ketchup and we charge more for it than we would need to if everything came out of a freezer via a microwave. If you are looking for prissy and plastic fine dining then don't expect that here. If you are looking for mountains of cheap food and you don't care where it came from then there are better places to get it.However if you love proper food then I also promise you service from people who are genuinely pleased to be working in our lovely Inn. The AA deems our food good enough for 2 rosettes - and that is without a single smear, smudge or froth in sight. At the other end of the scale, we don't do wrapped butter portions or packets of sauce either (or piped musak). If you want real food in a relaxed experience with great service and a happy atmosphere then come on down. If you want something else - then don't say I didn't warn you.Victor Buchanan - Owner
