We were staying overnight at a local B& B and had booked a meal at this Pub well in advance. We chose to book for a 6.30 table as we were flying out early the next day from Gatwick airport and we had our 7 year old grandson with us so we wanted to eat sooner rather than later. We... More

Looks like a beautiful little pub with massive potential! However, it was covered in cobwebs everywhere and had core ingredients missing from the menu! Asked for pizza from the main menu and kids menu and was told there was no mozzarella.... Asked for a pasta dish and I was told there was no PASTA!!! No pasta??? I'm not being funny,... More

Thank you for your comments. I am so sorry to hear that there was food unavailable. Unfortunately as we are part of a chain of pubs we are not allowed to buy products locally. We have been very busy over the past couple of days and we have now increased our orders to try and ensure that we have enough... More

Been going here for close on 13 years maybe once a month as I live locally. Haven't been now for several months as the service and food quality has really gone downhill

Can't really fault it. I have been attending for leisure & business meets for lunch for many months. Front of house are excellent, once you determine who they are. Small bar area need more coverage, really - brits can queue well, but this is near the airport, so really need to sometimes "un-brit" to get the place you are due.... More

Fantastic old pub with a great menu. Everything we had was excellent. The lunch menu is quite extensive from light snacks to bigger meals.

Staying at a small hotel close by and choosing not to eat our evening meal there, we had looked online and found this place. Within a few minutes walk too! What a wonderful treat, the atmosphere and surroundings, along with the lovely staff, drinks, food and service.. Just what we needed to relax with after a journey to our hotel,... More

We are a local family that used to come here a lot for both dinner and drinks. Sadly the food and service both deteriorated rapidly and sadly never seemed to recover, we did however give it the benefit of doubt time after time but after a very poor last visit about a year ago enough was enough. We heard that... More

Lovely old pub. One of the oldest in England. Has real character and history Good ale and good food. Staff are good too. It's also next to an old church of real character too. Go!
