This restaurant is an amazing experience! First of all it is in abandoned little town, the only place (for now) is this little restaurant. For the best experience make a reservation and order one of the peka dishes they make (they take 1,5h to prepare)....We had the octopus peka and it was delicious with fresh octopus, potatoes and other veggies. Oh, the starters! Almost forgot about them, the ansjovis and cheese are really amazing and of high quality. We ate all of this with their nice house wine that was locally produced. This all cost us around 600kn for two people, which is not expensive for Hvar prices. Visit this place if you want to try traditional made peka!More

We had dinner in Stori Komin with lamb peka. Peka was juicy and tasty, full of flavors. Great atmosphere of village that once was full of life.

This place is a tourist trap for groups from Hvar - small portions, expensive food, average taste. Lamb with potatoes 150kn, and the portion is so small you remain hungry after. All there is is nice ambience in the nature but the aftertaste of the...experience is not worth it.More

We visited Hvar in late October (and had a marvelous visit). One of the highlights was a dinner at Konoba Stori Komin! The story about Konoba Stori Komin has already been provided by a number of reviewers. Having read the reviews my expectations were quite...high. And, amazingly, the actual experience completely exceeded those expectations. The combination of the remoteness of the restaurant, the wonderful food and wine and the hospitality of the host made the experience one that my wife and I will long remember!More

Great appetizers of cheese, prosciutto, sliced tomato—plus fresh bread and a plate of anchovies seemed like enough when served with homemade red wine, but then came the peka— filled with slow cooked lamb, potatoes and onions. Then some toasted almonds and a glass of prosec. Delicious...and atmospheric.More

If you are looking for more than just a meal, but a true traveler's experience, then this is the place for you. The 15 minute cab ride from the center of Hvar leaves you on the edge of dark bumpy gravel path with no identifying...signs, but a sole light that starts to light your way. You head up the hill past abandoned shelters (be careful, its rocky), until you start to see signs of life. Once inside, you get an authentic Croatian meal that we had pre-ordered. Served in the pan in which it was heated on the old Croatian bell shaped above the pan grill, we dined on a stew that was fresh and delicious. Served with local wines and by a charming member of the family, it felt more like being invited by a long lost friend than a commercial restaurant. At the end of the night, you did not just have a meal, but a story. Bring cash...no credit cards.More

You have to experience Stori Komin yourself to understand why it is truly indescribable-- and here I will do my best to outline why you should. I organized a 40th Birthday Party at Stori Komin remotely from Switzerland, for a group of 20 friends. Perina...helped me organize the event and was an absolute pleasure to work with-- very responsive, accommodating, fair, and friendly. She even agreed to receive a shipment of decorations that I sent before our event, and she set them up perfectly for our dinner party! Everything that night went perfectly according to plan, which meant that I didn't need to worry about anything and could enjoy the evening. :-) Now onto the experience itself: We were all blown away by it. The location of the restaurant is magical: a taxi takes you into the woods and just stops in the middle of nowhere. (Kuzma Taxi is highly recommended!) You then walk up a little footpath toward the restaurant, where along the way you can smell food being cooked in the traditional outdoor oven. The view of the mountains and sunset is breathtaking, and amplified by the romantic nature of the restaurant itself, which is tucked into a mountainside and runs without any electricity. We enjoyed an incredible dinner under the trees and star-studded sky. I don't think you can get more authentic Croatian food (or such an experience) anywhere else in Hvar-- even the wine is locally sourced! We had a mix of seafood & fish appetizers followed by traditional meat dishes with gnocchi and vegetables. All excellent. And Perina and her family were such a delight all evening-- sharing the story of the restaurant, the abandoned town, and her family's origins. It was a really special night that none of us will ever forget. While Hvar is a beautiful place inside and out, Stori Komin was the hands-down highlight for each of us. Will definitely be back!!More

A friend told us about the most incredible experience they had while in HVAR. This is will be on your top 10 experiences for sure. The taxi cab drivers know the location. It’s about a $25 cab ride there. While the entrance can be slightly...intimidating because it’s in an abandoned village ...you will laugh about your hesitation after dinner. It’s a short walk up to the site. Best to wear comfortable shoes. Family run and also run by solar, you step back in time to a romantic setting. It’s costs approximately 550 kunas( $100/80€) We had homemade wine, beer in a bottle, lamb, veal, tenderloin, potatoes, veggies cooked on an open hearth. Only about 7 tables . In 2013 they were written up in New York Times. Get here before everyone knows about it. I’m sure Rick Steve’s will put this in his tour guide soon. This was one of our favorite adventures.More

Me and my boyfriend went to Stori Komin for dinner and were blown away! The food was exceptional and the service was unique and memorable. This restaurant is in an abandoned village close to Milna and the family cooks out of the house that their...grandfather grew up in. It truly is a unique amazing experience and the food was spectacular. We got the mixed grill plate for 2 and it was more than enough food! This restaurant is a MUST! Do not hesitate to go here!More
