We have a boat on the island and that means we are there nearly every weekend throughout the summer and this pub has been my favourite eatery for years. We went approximately 6 weeks ago and couldn't believe the difference. It was a stonkingly hot day and I looked forward to my ploughmans on the beach. When we got there,... More

Run by young confused staff but you warm to them and they want to do well. Food is what you would expect from a pub. Good atmosphere.

I ordered fish and chips for myself which was good my wife had a pint of prawns Which were tasteless and the size of the individual prawns were very small more like shrimps. A very busy Pub/Restaurant in a prime location a good place to eat and great tasting wines let down by the prawns.

The Fishermans Cottage is amazing, in a perfect location on the beach - we sat and enjoyed a massive jug of pimms whilst watching the waves rolling away, we did not eat but the menu looked fantastic. Friendly staff and we were really impressed by this place, a wonderful afternoon spent here.

Traditional pub and they had live music the night we were there which provided a lovely atmosphere. We were lucky with the weather and sat our on the patio near the beach. A must visit if you are in the area.

Set in a lovely position at the bottom of the Chine and at the water front. Great to sit outside and have a drink with friends, nice staff and a very clean place, take a look when in town it's at the end of the Esplanade.

Brilliant place, it can get very cramped its so small which when your eating can be rather off putting. However the food is top notch! And the fish and chips are yummy yummy!

Few pubs occupy a finer position than this one, on the beach at the very end of Shanklin Esplanade. The Fisherman’s Cottage seems to have had quite a torrid time recently. There was severe storm damage in 2014 and then some changes of management that didn’t go down well with locals. The present team seem to be popular but will... More

My friend and I visited quite a few days on our recent holiday to Shanklin, such a fabulous position and a great place to enjoy a bottle of Prosecco and watch the sea & the world go by. Just changed manager I believe but still a must to visit. Many thanks
