Visited the restaurant with two babies and a toddler. The staff were exceptional. They made us feel very welcome by interacting with the children and nothing was too much trouble. It was still busy even though it was out of season and a very cold day but the staff had created a really nice atmosphere inside. The food was nothing... More

This is the third year we have had an overnight stay at The Steamer on our round the IOW lads and dads cycle trip. Still great food and beer in a lively and friendly pub / hotel. Seems to get better and friendlier every time we visit. This year we had all the rooms. Great hearty breakfast which is included... More

Very cozy, clean pub restaurant with lovely sea view. Warm welcome from friendly, helpful staff. Best piece of battered cod I've had in ages and as I chose the 'deli' size which is the smaller option I couldn't resist having a pint of prawns as well (yes I was a bit of a piggy!) served with a fresh salad and... Cosy interior and friendly service but the food was average at best. The chowder, while packed with fish and seafood, was somehow very bland; the seafood tagliatelle lacked both seafood and taste. Disappointing given the reviews are so positive.

We tried the Steamer Inn for the first time in late September. The food itself was good quality, reasonably priced and large portions. However, the staff disappointingly let the place down. As we were shown to our table we assumed it was table service too. Having sat there for longer than normal we eventually made eye contact with a waitress... More

Second time at the Steamer as down on the Island for the weekend and can't fault anything. We came on a Saturday evening with live music from Jukebox Jazz, which gave a great atmosphere while eating delicious meals. The portions are generous and offer great value, with a good choice of seafood, burgers and other dishes. Good choice of ales... More

Went on recommendation and cannot fault anything at all with our visit. Great local real ale, starters were delicious and huge my whitebait was half an ocean. Mains were hot, fresh and my lamb steak cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back as steaks and burgers looked amazing too. Only fault had no room for one of the huge ice cream... More

We were impressed by the decor and ambience of the pubs. We had chosen this pub due to its proximity to the sea front. However, the service and food didn't live up to the environment. While the choice of food was great, the waiter spilled half of one of our appetisers down his shirt. Then the waitress also looking after... More

I am sorry to hear you did not enjoy your visit. We work very hard to give the best service we can. Sadly mistakes can and do happen here as well as everywhere else. We pride ourselves on offering as much local produce (both food and drink) as possible. At the present we offer many locally sourced ingredients for our... More

My wife and I took her parents here. Both my wife and her mother are gluten intolerant so found this restaurant very accommodating. Good food, friendly staff, reasonably priced and lovely atmosphere. Would recommend this place.

We had a fantastic meal there in the evening. The portions were very large. as it was on the sea front we had a great view while we sat having dinner.
