Visited here as grand-daughter looking forward to seeing the Fairy Garden, which she loved. Did like the pretty plates on dressers etc, however as we were quite a large party (6 adults and 1 child) did feel a bit cramped, also weather not warm enough to sit outside. (Good old British summer)! Had a cream tea which was a generous... More

This was only my third visit to the Old Thatch Tearooms but is was just as good as always. It was my mums 71st birthday and we had a lovely table in the garden.( Keep an eye out for the faeries). We had a leisurely lunch starting with wine / cold drinks before we moved on to a Victorian Tea.... More

This place is so quaint (fairy garden is delightful) and the food is lovely but the cream teas are the highlight! Lots of gluten free options which is fantastic and waitress was really helpful. Would definitely return.

Worth a visit just for the kids to see the fairy garden! Afternoon tea was good quality with a nice selection to cater for my children. Not over priced look similar places and the staff were very friendly and polite.

Lovely tea and scones; we were also offered blankets as it started to rain and the owner even had time to share a few history questions even though she was very busy. Great affordable prices too!

The two fantastic ladies who run the Tea Room, make this place ☺, they provide the very best facilities and the best ever cream tea's I have ever experienced, both sweet and savoury. The gardens are majestic and surreal. We loved it so much we went back for a second time, namely to enjoy a further cream tea and too... More

I came for afternoon tea with my parents and brother. We sat in the fairy garden at the back which is very pretty and quaint. The weather was also stunning which helped! My mum and I both had fruit scones with cream and strawberries, which were homemade, delicious and absolutely massive. My brother and dad had bacon pancakes, which also... More

There really are fairies at the bottom of the garden at The Old Thatch Tearooms. Old Shanklin on the Isle of Wight came as a lovely surprise with so many traditional thatched buildings in one short stretch of street. We were lucky to have a sunny morning and chose The Old Thatch from amongst others to have a coffee and... More
