Doesn't exist, it is part of the bomb site of Durham. It used to be good before. It may reopen elsewhere.

Great dining experience, pricey but not disappointing. We had a voucher which helped keep the cost down. I'm not sure if it was 'quite' good enough to justify paying full price for? It's one of those places, when you leave, you're still hungry. We did...More

Simple menu. Delicious, good quality, locally sourced food. Calm atmosphere. Friendly staff. Not to expensive. Loved it.

Another popular Durham restaurant closed as a building is to be demolished and converted to student accommodation. Even though it is the historic Victorian headquarters of the Durham Gas Company. God knows what motivates our planners these days.

This restaurant cannot be reviewed as it closed down. But when it was open it served good food. They also had a policy that if you were going to the theatre they would have your meal served in time so you weren't late for the...More

Oldfields has recently closed! No reason given. This is the second well known restaurant to close in Durham during the past six months!

BE WARNED!!! There have recently been Vouchers available via Groupon and possibly others for this establishment. We called early January 2016 to find the place CLOSED, the signage removed and the inside gutted! They have seemingly gone out of business. I could see no notices...More

Hi WHArry1, I'm sorry that you turned up and that we were closed. We've closed down due to the redevelopment of Claypath. We spoke to groupon in advance of closure and they've agreed to refund any unused vouchers in full. As with all groupon deals,...More

Description
We’re proper cooks, serving real British food, cooked properly. We don’t mess around with our food. We cook it simply, without flashy sauces, so the quality of the ingredients speak for themselves. The ingredients that go into our kitchen come from local farms and suppliers, some of whom we’ve known for years, like Joe Simpson of Cockfield, who rears, slaughters and butchers his own beef, Ian Alexander of Raby Estates with his fantastic venison and Carol Peacock from Sedgefield who makes world-beating blue cheese. Our veg comes from the local markets and our recipes are based on real British dishes with heritage.
