Lunch here today On the face of it the COVID practices were good but we sat by the front door and watched People came in and didn’t use the COVID app or give their details in all cases which was worrying and tables and chairs...not especially well cleaned Staff were pleasant and food was averageMore

This is a really nice Wetherspoons with a wide selection of ales and a nice beer garden. This isn't their fault but the pub experience is being ruined at the moment by the stupid, moronic new coronavirus restrictions that will probably put every pub out...of business. If you want to order more than one drink I would advise having the app. You can order and pay by cash/card but it is slow and I think the staff understandably find providing table service just for pints incredibly frustrating!! (I would if I worked in a pub)More

Unfortunately we was not happy with our meal here, we understand its pub food but even so it was not nice at all, not a very inviting atmosphere and after ordering I started to regret it straight away, the place was noticeably not very clean...looking tanle had a quick wipe before sitting down, used the toilets very messy and toilets not clean checked the last clean and noticed the last two checks had not been signed off so couldn't have been cleaned for a few hours... Sonething that was uncomfortable was a waitress carrying food up above her chest under her chin breathing into the plates found that wrong anytime let alone a pandemic. When the food came it was not the best the jacket potato was really dry and over cooked even the chilli did nothing for the dryness the salads wilted no one ate their food we paid and left, don't think I will take my family in any wetherspoons again after that it was abit of a diveMore

Ordered 3x Pizzas - 1 arrived with a big black hair in it. Complained to the rudest manager I have ever encountered. Kept calling me 'love' asked her not to call me love and then she started taking the mick. Absolutely disgusting customer service, requested...a refund for the food and the waitress advised me to go to the bar where one would be done. I was spoken to at at less then 1m where the manager was not standing behind any form of PPE and basically breathing on me - vile person. Asked for a reciept so I could complain, this was refused. I paid in cash. Asked for a number or email address for customer service, again refused. Told me I was not entitled to have this information or her name. Advised her I work in commerical law and I am legally entitled to this. She started laughing implying I was lying. She clearly needs to work on her customer service skills, I wouldn't even employ her to talk to a pig in a sty. No hygiene measures being taken - clearly don't realise we are in the middle of a global pandemic. Barnstaple will be in a local lockdown soon based on the protocol Wetherspoons are not following.More

This was the first place we went to when pubs reopened in July 2020 and we were impressed by the precautions. We felt safe and the single queue for the food is better for me as I feel a bit nervous about going to a...crowded bar even before lockdown. We prefer the Panniers to the Watergate in Barnstaple especially now they've extended into property next door and there's more room. It's our 'local'in Barnstaple.More

Dirty tables with staff who don’t want to work : no idea of hygiene or keeping c Things clean, when asked if they could clean a table it was done very badly in her own time a With a look on her face ! Staff...more interested in talking to themselves or friends : who are allowed in with big groups and no social distancing , door staff with attitude going round asking people when they were going to leave ! This place is an utter dirty disgrace and should be closed down Is it has a manager then he/ she should be dismissed for gross incompetence Disable perhaps the staff. Hold stop talking long enough to clean up a bit ? also no meat or burger buns !!! They sold out due to est out and help but hadn’t ordered any more supplies ?..????More

Very limited availability for breakfast in Barnstaple at the moment, so for the last two weeks I have been obliged to use Weatherspoons, served by 'Erin' who seeing I was on crutches (disabled) fetched my coffee for me, just a little thing in the grand...scheme of things BUT makes the world of difference thankyou Erin you are a credit to you company. Good breakfast.More

On a half day visit to Barnstaple and had been to visit the Panniers market. It was pouring with rain so took shelter in here.Pretty typical sprawling Spoons pub.Everyone must have had the same idea as it was very busy.No problem getting served or finding a...table-could be a problem if there were several of you.Did not eat on this occasion but plenty of food going out and looked ok.More
