This is my third visit to Linthwaite House Hotel. As usual the meal was outstanding. Canapes are served before the meal, then a nice cup of soup followed by Duck with all the trimmings. To finish I had the chocolate ball with orange sauce. There was no room left for a cup of coffee.

We last went to Linthwaite house 2 years ago, the meal then was lovely but it has recently been sold I believe so we were slightly concerned about the quality but we needn't have been as it was excellent again - in every way! The tasting menu we had in the past has gone but the menu was varied and... More

We went to Linthwaite for Sunday lunch. The staff, food and location is spectacular. We would recommend this to anyone for the best Sunday lunch in the Lakes.

This is a comfortable hotel in a wonderful location with spectacular views. We booked a DBB deal, including a four course meal. The room was dull and cramped with dark decorations and no view to speak of. It was however clean. Dinner was unmemorable, except for the amuse bouche which was frankly awful and an absolute joke described as 'risotto'... More

We recenty had dinner here which began with a pre meal drink overlooking the fells on a lovely sunny evening. The service and the food were both excellent and the staff very knowledgeable. We had the a la carte menu which had good choices. Recommended.

If you are staying at the Linthwaite and you enjoy a glass of wine with your evening meal, there really is no need to go anywhere else to dine!

I brought 5 Chef's for lunch in March. My reputation was on the line as much as the Linthwaite's as Chef's are a particular bunch. Fortunately we weren't disappointed. Service was incredibly warm, attentive and professional from start to finish. The food was most impressive and incredible value for money. It is easy to comprehend why the Linthwaite have 3... More

Linthwaite House Hotel restaurant overlooking Lake Windermere in the sublime Lake District is a very special place indeed. With views that would have thrilled Wordsworth, Linthwaite House Hotel has chosen luxurious, tasteful interiors to please even the most jaded urbanite and the kitchen, under chef Simon Bolsover, is daring and modern too. Fresh, local ingredients conspire in a signature dish like 60 Degree Herdwick Lamb with braised neck kataifi, cep and kidney risotto. Choose from light lunch menu on the terrace, daily changing table d’hote menu or simpler a la carte in the elegant dining room, with its vast mirror collection, in the evenings, vegetarian menu, or trad Sunday lunch, all accompanied by a blistering global wine list.
