Another visit to Bowness warrented a further visit. The food is spot on and service is very quick. Good choice of beers etc some never disappointing. Sometimes hard to get to bar as people tend to push in but in the main staff are fair....More

Olde Worlde in a true sense. Low beams, stone floors and decorated with everything from stuffed animals to chamber pots, this is a genuine old building serving good ales and for lunch excellent dishes. Not a place to be missed and very friendly staff.

Local ales and can have a laugh with the stocks out the front! Well worth a visit, little gem. Would recommend a drink or two here. Did not eat here so can not comment on the food.

Good pub with good staff, does get very busy, good selection of real ales. Nothing to complain about from us, we did not eat so cannot comment on that but beers were good.

Great atmosphere but let down by the food cheap pork pie let down the ploughman's and serving coleslaw warm is never a good idea 😐

Don't quite understand the five star reviews. Staff are nice enough but food is pretty unremarkable. Definitely a place if you fancy quantity over quality.
