I came into your restaurant on said date, and I sat down with my girlfriend and her family getting ready to celebrate out engagement. We definitely didn't get off to a good start or choose the best place to eat. We sat down waiting to order when we saw one of the chefs throwing food out of the fridge/freezer, and... More

I have marked average as it wasn't 'very good' which is the next option but the staff were really lovely. They were training a new chef so everything took a long time and the home made tortillas were a bit overdone so not really worth the wait although the dips were yummy. Maybe I caught them on a bad day.

Very at ease. We ordered pot of tea for two which was ample for two cups each. Service was very good. We had a special from the menu fresh fish. I will definitely be taking friends and family again as children are welcome. This was the first time visiting cheese and Alfies

I've been to Cheese & Alfies two or three times in total for one main reason: the pan breakfast. The pan breakfast is an all-in-a-pan English breakfast with quality ingredients, everything tasted delicious. Only down sides were that it took a little while for food to arrive and the coffee was burnt... but apart from that, I'd always recommend it... More

Nice little cafe with a decent menu. Cater well for family with plenty for the kids to choose from. Also good for a quite coffee stop, nice to avoid the chains....

Promising menu and good atmosphere on a rainy Saturday lunchtime. Single chef turning out what looked like great food. Informed of a half hour wait so left. Shame as there were plenty of other staff, but only one on the kitchen who was a bottleneck. Went over to the Italian deli for an awesome pannini. Got served straight away.

Yes we were treated well - hence a 'poor' not 'terrible' rating. The £15 burger tasted more of dried herbs than 'burger' and at over an inch thick the field mushroom just was too wet and bland to be a benefit. The chips were hard and under cooked. They were busy and having waited 35 mins I really did not... More

I love it here and go often. The goats cheese walnut and cranberry salad is lovely. Breakfasts are delicious too. Very funky quaint little cafe with great staff

This is the third time we have been here, the first was a disaster as they had not noted our booking although when we got them to look there was a note in the diary re our booking, When we arrived the kitchen was closing down. The second tine, see my review, was very good and we were given a... More

Well, my family and I decided to treat ourselves to breakfast. I had been to C&A a few times while ago now and the menu hadn't changed so I knew what to expect - which was great on the last occasion. Unfortunately the children's menu wasn't really adapted to breakfasts so we chose to just order scrambled eggs on toast... More
