Brought my cousin and his wife here on New Year's Day. They were very impressed so invited us to join them for her 81st birthday. The ambiance of this place is superb and the view over the harbour is great. We anticipated a really good meal and were not disappointed. The service is excellent with all waiters and waitresses going... More

My wife and I had lunch here on Friday, using for part payment, a voucher given to us for a birthday present. We decided to have a 'light lunch': it was superb, we started with a shared baked Camembert , followed by a prawn and crayfish cocktail for my wife and I had the Ceasers Salad, we also had drinks.... What a delight to have been here. Was a very short visit but never forget the beauty of Dorset as a whole. The courtesy of the hotel staff was exemplary not forgetting the pretty faces.

I have stayed in the hotel and have had so many meals at this restaurant over the years that the staff could guess my order - I'm not sure what has happened but it's gone so downhill the last 12 months. The food is hit and miss and all the good staff have left. The service tonight was shocking -... More

Nowhere can beat this restaurant in a warm English summer. We sat outside in some shade on a perfect summer's day watching people at leisure on the River Stour. It is idyllic. And on a Friday the fish pie is just the ideal lunch. The service is great and the whole ambience relaxing. The car park can get busy but... More

Wonderful setting, let down by rather basic and austere large interior, wonderful on the terrace, coupled with dis interested and off hand staff. We were being treated to afternoon tea that was well below std. and very expensive the sandwiches had unrecognisable almost non existent fillings, with tasty but very small cakes, cream tea part as only average. We expected... More

Every year we meet up for lunch at this delightful location on the River Stour in Christchurch. The service is excellent, the food ( 3 fish pies) was delicious. Thank you.

You must try the eggs Benedict. Superb... And the view for breakfast cannot be beaten. Who else serves Tanqueray 10 as the house gin? Love it.

Really should have sent this cream tea for 2 back....scones were like bullets...knife would not slice through them and sandwiches dry with meagre filling. Cakes looked like they had been around for a week but tasted ok. At £15 per head, a poor show. Would not go back again!
