Today was the first time back since Christmas - WOW what a surprise - freshly decorated, spotlessly clean and the carvery was superb. Had the pensioners carvery which included a delicious sweet as we looked over the canal with all the barges. The staff were...so helpful and at hand if you needed anything and explained the social distances and what tables were in use. Understand it’s now under new management so wish every success to Chloe and all her staff. Well Done. We’ll certainly return for another scrumptious mealMore

First time we’ve been since it changed hands just before lock down - pub is lovely inside & quality of Carvery is still good but lots of staff changes & not for the better! The lady behind the Carvery needs some customer service training -...if you are going to work with the public you should be polite & not miserableMore

My parents & I dined here 2 nights running last weekend whilst on holiday. Excellent service, plenty of space inside (totally safe) & delicious carvery. The waitresses Chloe & Neme were very efficient & are a real credit to the place. The view over the...canal nearby is marvellous. Thank you very much for looking after us.More

Only went for a canal side drink but food looked good. Must mention the friendly young female members of staff who were a credit to the pub. Please tell them they are the best.

It's been a fair few years since we last visited this place. It's had a change of ownership and a revamp, the surroundings were pleasant enough, can't complain there, but the prices here have gone through the roof! £12.95 for a weekday carvery is way...overpriced in my opinion and so are the bar prices (to be expected). Considering they only offer 3 meats on the carvery and you can't help yourself to the veg because of the Covid restrictions in place, personally I thought it was a rip off. No complaints about the food, but can't say it was anything special. Better quality and you pay far less at The Swan at Wychbold not that far away from here (their weekday carvery is £7.50 - they do my favourite garlic potatoes here too). Needless to say, I won't be returning anytime soon.More

This is a canal-side pub restaurant. It is a comfortable size, not a huge characterless establishment. While dining you look down over the canal through large panoramic windows. It is a great place to eat. We had a booking to ensure we could dine here...on the evening of a family birthday. Upon arrival we waited at the door, as requested, sanitised and completed a tracing form. We were soon greeted with a smile and directed to our table. The view over the canal was something very special. Alternate tables were closed to ensure social distancing. The lively and personable lady behind the bar took our drinks orders then returned to take our food orders. Service with a big smile, with a fantastic playlist adding ambience to the special canal-side atmosphere. The menu was simple: carvery (even midweek) or fish and chips, plus some items for children. Well that's as simple as menus get and no surprise that we all chose the carvery. We were kindly requested to head over to the carvery once the previous group had vacated the area. Good grief - the carvery was the size of an airport runway, almost, with so many items to choose from including a selection of three meats. The entire area was fully shielded by a huge plexiglass front that reached to the ceiling. Behind the glass, the chatty chef readily engaged in conversation while building up a mountain of food before handing you your plate. Believe me when I say you will not go hungry. This is a generous, very generous, carvery. The individual items were all superbly prepared, from garlic potatoes, through cauliflower cheese, peas, sprouts, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, swede, parsnips and much much more. Struggling under the weight of the plate, we returned to our table and tucked in. This was carvery dining at its very best. There was no way we could manage desert but our lovely waitress / bar manager used The Force and persuaded us to have desert anyway. I have very little will power and even less won't power. The value for money was excellent. British classic dining at its best. After a brilliant evening, we followed the one way system out of the restaurant and waved goodbye to our smiling hostess. Veni. Vidi. Carvery.More

Visited on Monday lunchtime with Wife and mother in law. Seemed ok to start with but limited menu and the carvery price has increased to £12.95 , top end of carvery prices in the area. Pensioners deal of £9.95 for small carvery and desert. My...other half being a veggie usually has the veggie wellington and carvery vegetables but we were told nothing available other than just the carvery veg for vegetarians. Ok , accepted that but £12.95 for a plate of veg ?? Kept quiet as to not ruin the occasion and went up for carvery , meat served ok but as you are now not allowed to serve yourself veg because its behind a screen you have to tell the "chef" what you want, it was like some thing out of oliver twist, carrots please....1 carrot, new potatoes please...1 new potato, 2 stuffing balls plz....got 1, I said 2 please, which begrudgingly I then got. Talk about stingy. You then get given your plate so you can put your own , cranberry, horseradish, apple sauce on but you do that yourself??? No different to how you used to serve yourself on the carvery. Make your minds up its either safe to serve yourselves or not. Final kick in the proverbials ..as it was Monday lunchtime it was eligable for the 'eat out ' discount but we were told on presentation of the bill that the pensioners deal was not eligable. ALL FOOD eaten in should be eligable for this and I am sure they will try and claim their 50% back from the government. It felt like they have inflated prices, instructed staff to skimp on portion size and tried to con pensioners. We will Never return and will make sure to warn others.More

Sorry Only Guide Dogs in the Bar and Restaurant. But these is plenty of space in the canalside gardens with tables and benches overlooking the Narrow Boats. Food can also be served in the garden!
