Never having been to Fowey, pronounced Foy, what a delightful little town. There's a step walk down to the town from the main car park but there's a shuttle bus. As it was lunch time we came across Nile's bakery, and when in Cornwall you have to try their famous pasties. I had a traditional steak pasty that was packed... More

We wanted 3 dozen Cornish pasties. After queuing for 20 minutes or so, when I got to the front was told that I would have to go next door for takeaway - even though it was advertised in there buy 12 pay for 10 take away pasties. So we went across the road and bought our pasties.

Breads, cakes, scones etc. Everything you could wish for in a bakery. Always fresh and gorgeous. Lovely granary bread.

A very good selection of bread cakes pasties and sausage rolls, ideal for a quick snack while in town.

white loaf was really good, made good sandwiches and toast the next day.But Lord knows what they do with their cakes.I tried a custard doughnut, usually the custard is piped into the middle and of a thick consistency, not in this case it was sliced in half with a runny watery custard and a really awful icing on top of... Arrived in fowey early morning, walked in with 2 young children, asked if the food we ordered was children and amended sizes without asking even to doing small cups of tea. Great food, shame there is only 2 tables as I'm sure it would be rammed all the time if bigger!

Was looking for a non pasty lunch to be a bit healthier - the bakery offered a choice of their own home baked rolls, and many fillings. The rolls are made to order as you wait, and everything is really fresh.

We were looking for a quick bit to eat for a very late lunch. Our German relatives who were holidaying with us could not get enough of the Cornish Pasties. Like us they thoroughly enjoyed their Nile's Pasties.

Being Cornish, I've made a few pasties, so reckon I'm a good judge. When in this part of Cornwall we always buy traditional pasties from Niles
