For my husbands 40th birthday we wanted to take 14 of our friends for a special meal. We chose Raval because of its reviews. We booked a table for 10pm on Saturday evening. When we arrived there was no one else in the restaurant which was the same for the whole of our stay . We were asked to sit... More

A couple of us went along one Saturday evening - we'd heard that the food was good. what we found was an excellent, and slightly unusual (compared to the run of the mill Indian type restaurants) menu, very well executed, with great service in upmarket surroundings. We were surprised that the restaurant wasn't full to the gills! Excellent lamb chops... More

We have been to Rivals previously as it's in a parade of buildings just along the way from one of my favourite Newcastle/Gateshead pubs with the name something like The Central. Last time we had little choice as we were amidst a summer storm, but this time having enjoyed our last experience went willingly. We hadn't booked so went rely.... More

My wife and went here before a concert at The Sage. As the concert started at 7.00pm we went early and took advantage of the early menu offer at £14.95 each, and one drink each. The food was excellent, but the service was a bit slow as it took ages for our drinks to arrive. The bill was £35.40, which... More

This was the third visit in three weeks, having originally discovered the Restuarant whilst on a walk from my local hotel. As with the previous visits I continue to be impressed with the quality and variety of the menu together with the timely table service. The staff are completely charming and attentive and make you feel at home as soon... More

I went with two colleagues after work and we were made to feel welcome as soon as we walked through the door. Our waitress Nathalie was brilliant friendly and attentive. We ate a mix of meat, veggie and fish all really good. We stayed late and were rewarded by a free beer! Recommended

I arrived in Gateshead late on a Monday evening. I went to Raval and asked if they were serving still, or could they give me a take-away. They couldn't have been nicer or made me feel more welcome! I was the ONLY one in the restaurant and they made me relax and order whatever I wanted. A chef stayed late,... More

I could not fault this restaurant at all. I am very fussy when it comes to eating out, food and hygiene is imperative to me. The food, hygiene, service and the decor was above and beyond! On arrival I was greeted by staff who were very friendly. The atmosphere was lovely, so much so that we stayed for drinks for... More

We have a team of world class chefs delivering the very best in contemporary Indian fusion food right here in Newcastle upon Tyne.
