Party of ten visited on a busy Friday evening.Took 45 mins to get drinks and take our order, the wait for mains was too long.I assume because they had a wedding reception on as well we were neglected.Meals came out in stages, some of our party had to start their food while others were waiting for theirs.Overall a really disappointing experience especially... Warm and friendly welcome always guaranteed. Their Fish, Chips and Mushy Peas are to die for. Excellent Value. Great for a big celebration. The new conservatory is light, spacious and airy. This great little place is set in the heart of the Vale of Belvoir. Only 2 miles away from Belvoir Castle.

Was lucky enough to get a cancellation on a Saturday night as otherwise restaurant was fully booked. The staff were very welcoming and escorted us to our table. Dinner menu dishes were explained and my allergy to shellfish noted. Choice of menu was good and the tomato and sweet peppers soup was delicious. Similarly our lemon sole on the bone... More

Having visited Belvoir castle we decided to find a local pub for a drink in the sunshine and the chequers seemed the nearest. We selected drinks , 4 cask beers on offer, and sat outside to relax in the sun. The pub is very inviting, both inside and out , with tables to the front and a large garden to... More

When my sister got married the reception was here. The rumour given by the staff was that the chef had been Elton John’s personal chef; certainly the food and the event were excellent. That was several years ago. We returned with friends 3 years ago and were a little disappointed in the scaling down of the menu, it was good... More

I have long wanted to eat at The Chequers in the beautiful Vale of Belvoir so was thrilled to finally get the chance. Initially when my husband & I arrived we were enchanted by the beer garden with the chickens happily milling about. We were shown to a table & given some lovely bread & water by the young waitress... Found this pub by accident after visiting Belvoir Castle and wanting somewhere to round the day off with a drink. So tempted by the menu and the 7th Heaven offer we stayed for an hour having drinks before food serve started and we were not disappointed. Good quality, tasty burgers served with home cooked chips. Portion sizes were good and... More
