I'm always a bit underwhelmed by this pub but as its close to where I live I pop in every six months or so in the hope that its improved. Don't get me wrong its not awful, but it is pretty average. On the last two occasions (April 16 and Nov 15) I've had Gammon, Egg and Chips which you... More

This is a lovely little pub set in a nice location. There is always something nice to choose from on the menu. I near enough always have steal on the stone, I love it. I think it's one of the only places around that does this sort of dining. Staff all friendly and it's always a good service. I would... More

Visit here often, food is always good, not your standard pub chain slop! Black Rock grill is always yum. Landlady is great I wish the son who works here would cheer up though.

Nice location, nice garden but food was average unless you like grissly lamb, burnt Yorkshire pudding and tasteless veg, oh and forget to mention the lukewarm coffee that I complained about, they brought me another one and then charged me for both... go elsewhere, much nicer places to eat locally

Three of us visited go lunch on a Sunday and while the car park looked busy there was plenty of space. We ate outside because it was a pleasant day but inside was almost empty with plenty of tables to choose from. They have updated the menu since the last time we visited and were very pleased with the changes.... More

Park up. Then walk up lane to left of pub. Take footpath across corn field (in summertime), through Gilston Park. Stop off at St. Mary's church and enjoy peaceful views across beautiful English countryside. On walk spotted a silently gliding barn owl searching for an early evening snack. Superb sight. Walk back to pub to enjoy a pint and chat... More

I have visited here a few times over the last few months mainly on the weekends and I have really enjoyed it. I love the hot stone! The waitress staff are so friendly and helpful and when we had a little girl with us who refused to sit in her highchair the young waitress decided to tell her it was... More

Food was tasteless and cold, service poor and staff unfriendly. On arriving at the Plume I was quite impressed. It is an old building with lots of character, but that is where the character ends. There was no welcome when we approached the bar and I had the feeling that they were understaffed. We sat at our table and was... More
