We've given this cafe a few chances. There's no denying that the food is fine enough but it is very expensive for what you get. £6 for a slice of toast with partially melted cheese, 4 salad leaves and one cherry tomato seems a tad steep. My biggest gripe is the staff though. I've been asked to leave for coming... More

We ate several times for lunch, dinner and afternoon tea. The hours made this a very accessible choice but the quality of the food and drink added to our enjoyment. Reasonably priced, good portions, very tasty -- what more could you ask for. The atmosphere in the back of Judith Glue Store made this a delightful spot to people watch... More

We had a week on Orkney recently and were delighted by this excellent cafe, recommended to us by friends who are regular visitors to these charming islands. This is truly real food, freshly made from local ingredients. Having found it early in the week, we returned on several occasions for coffee or lunch. The quiche with salad was the best... More

Don't expect fancy dining, but do appreciate the extended summer opening hours of Julia's Cafe at the rear of her magnificent emporium situated directly opposite St Magnus Cathedral, and the excellent produce freshly-cooked on the premises. During a prolonged stay on Orkney we ate here for snacks, lunch and dinner at least once every week. It is the perfect place... More

We went to the shop to look around and stayed for lunch. The shop is full of 'stuff', knitted clothes by the owner and lots of other assorted items, not all good quality. Very geared to tourists. They make a feature right at the entrance to the shop of the road sign to Twatt in Orkney. There is, of course,... More

The restaurant is at the back of Judith Glue's shop on Broad Street. The staff is always busy as there are so many customers. The seafood is lovely and so is every other dish that is served, including the freshly baked desserts. Servings are generous and the atmosphere though busy is pleasant. I thoroughly recommend it for a snack or... More

The restaurant is at the back of a shop that sells local items. We went there for dinner but the menu was, to me, more suitable for lunch.

Hi There From mid September we cut our hours back to 6pm as it is so quiet so we do not do evening specials such as in the top of the summer when we open to 10pm every evening so l completely agree that at this time of year we are more a lunch venue or early tea. You did... More

Judith Glue occupies a prime sight opposite St Magnus Cathedral in the centre of Kirkwall. Popping in for a bowl of soup at lunchtime turned out to be a disappointment - it was purporting to be vegetable, but it had one small piece of carrot and one slice of leek - the rest was a very watery broth. Had it... More
